Alright, only 10 hours remain till the cutoff for Week 2. All you need to post is proof of having worked on your game. I'll take full-fledged write ups all the way to a simple post on the new mechanic you figured out. The amount you post is up to you - just post some form or progress. See you guys in a few hours!

Here's a Google Doc where I've finally started to write down the ideas. It's still messy and I'm actually working on it right now, but I wanted to get this posted lest I forget to do so before heading to bed later.

I'm going to end up using my late pass for this week; illness and extra unexpected work and some other things came up.

Current Progress: About 10% towards playtest Link to progress: Click Here Wheww, cutting it rather close. I´ve made some progress, but I´m still funky about how good this is going to be. Still working on the "Breaking the Limit" mechanic to make this sufficiently anime.

Presented for the approval of The Sound Ninja, I bring you a very rough draft of a character creation chapter for Armilage: The Peace Keepers! I wanted to have a lot more done, but sickness made sure that this is the only part of the game that's totally complete at the moment. Here is what the game itself should look like, in a really rough outline. The playtest version will have the Rules chapter, the Character Creation chapter, and as much of the mech/equipment chapter as I can before deadline. All the history stuff/General (game master) stuff will probably be for final deadline.

Weekend has been busy so I still need to do a proper write-up and finish the mechanics (I'm trying to decide whether there's a cooler way to do this), but here's the Devaders doc so far.

Requiem for Rose isn't playable yet, but I'm making progress. It's a lot of ideas circling around one another at the moment. As the different sections get closer and closer, I'm hoping they'll collide and cohere. Horror is tricky. The game is about corruption, so the consequences for giving in need to be tempting. However, the rewards can't be so good that giving in is a foregone conclusion. Just because ruin and doom are likely doesn't mean they're inevitable. Otherwise the game becomes torture porn rather than a meditation on vanity, civilized illusions, and the value of hope. Work in progress. Comments welcome.

"Sensei!!!" A rough-hewn teenage boy shouts, running down the hall. He looks at his watch - he's really cutting it close. He probably shouldn't have watched so many re-runs of Captain Harlock or got absorbed in reading Dune again for the nth time before coming to school today, but he did. "Here's my homework for the day, sensei! I'm glad I made it just in time!" It's a work in progress and I'm currently working on it, but feel free to comment.

Figured I had best get something up before midnight. This is very much still in the early stages and some stuff might be excised or changed completely. I left off in the middle of a sentence when I last stopped working on it. Taking a turn to prepare Being helped by a team member Faith/Passion Heroes in service to the Chimeric Papacy are beings of great passion and faith, as only those exhibiting such zeal and drive can truly unlock the potential of the Armor of Gods. Each Hero must therefore embody both a type of faith and a personality. When they embody these aspects to the detriment of themselves, they receive Faith of Passion points, which can be spent on a variety of things. 1. Faith/Passion points can be spent whenever an action they are performing is done in the spirit of their passion or faith. As these points are granted for taking action detrimental to themselves, it is the GM’s duty to be generous as to what character can spend on, after all, they suffered for this. 2. Faith/Passion may be used to declare a truth. This declared truth is now a part of the game and can be interacted with as seen fit by the players and the GM. 3. Aaaaaand, that's it for Week 2! There are a few of you who haven't used your late passes yet, so you still have a chance to win! Since this week's requirements would be a part of Week 3's playtestable rough draft, just submit your rough draft and your requirements to claim a late pass.
Remember, you can always ask questions in the official Discord (as we've pretty much adopted it, and it's started singing and dancing about it while wearing a red wig for some reason). Ettin posted:Just as a heads up, I will probably late pass this one. I plan to work on it tonight but the deadline is in the afternoon my time. You aren't the only one who will be in that position, but that's what those are for, right? You all have under 24 hours remaining. You must turn in something that can be playtested to a level that will get you the feedback you need to finish your game for the final deadline. Now, if you are using a ruleset that has an open licence, I will allow you to copy and paste basic rules instructions for your playtest materials, if you include mention to the fact that the text is not your own but is simply a placeholder for testing. I will require you to follow the requirements of the licence for the final draft, so if there is any confusion do reach out and ask the thread (or the rights holders, if they seem like decent people) what is permissible under the licence. EDIT: Also, as I've been moving this past week, and will still be moving for the next 7 days: the cut-off for this week will be when I post that the deadline has been reached. While it won't be before the originally listed time, it could be after it by a few hours. As long as you post a link to a version of your game that can be playtested before I post the cut-off, you'll be on time. Sound fair? It's time for another update!!! Burning Fires of Youth!!! - Week 3: Let's Get Those Spirits Burning Here is the rought draft of Burning Fires of Youth!!! Like all Kickstarters, I've delivered something that resembles the product in the form of a Google Doc for playtesting, including a sample adventure. Had no time for graphic design thanks to complicated dog fostering, but everything necessary for a playtest should be there. In the spirit of Kickstarter, I never bothered finishing the table of random Demon Name Generation - I'll need to do that at some point. Perhaps a bonus supplement of randomized names for all sorts of things for anyone who might enjoy this bizarre game.

Here is the first draft of the playtest document. Mysterious Hero Legacy runs on a hack of Fate Accelerated Edition, so access to those rules is necessary. I'll probably add some more commentary and make changes over time. Below is my bit of fanfic to cover the late pass from last deadline. Crimson Sentinel ducked and threw herself backwards as the Void Lord pressed his attack. The twisted creature laughed, raising his massive claws. Behind him the Wizards of Night continue their chant. "It's not working! None of my attacks can break through his armor!" She shouted to her companions, dropping into a defensive stance. Behind her, Cobalt and Amber Sentinels helped Onyx Sentinel back to his feet, while Jade Sentinel dropped in to stand beside her. "Maybe try harder?" Jade needled, but her heart wasn't in it. Even she was worried. Amber gave the others a nod of thanks as the other three stepped into line, their weapons ready. "There has to be way," Cobalt interjected, her voice tight with concentration. "The First Sentinels defeated the Night Wizards a thousand years ago! We just need to figure out how they did it." Onyx suddenly looked up. "Wait, I read something in the archives..." ~~~~~~ "It's not working! None of my attacks can break through his armor!" Fire Sentinel snarled, barely getting her blade up in time to block the Void Lord's admantine claws. The chant rose in time with the monster's attacks as the Wizards of Night neared completion of their ritual. Behind her, Water and Metal Sentinels pulled Earth Sentinel to safety. It distracted Fire for a moment, but Wood Sentinel was suddenly there, slapping aside the Void Lord's other claw. "We need to try harder," he said, the intensity of his focus obvious in his voice. "We need a plan," Water countered as the other three stepped into line, their weapons at the ready. "Wait, I have it!" Metal said suddenly. "If I tie one of my banishing scrolls to Earth's arrows, then she can hit the Dark Gem!" "I appreciate your confidence," Earth said morosely, "But he's deflected every shot." "Leave that part to us," Fire replied, raising her blade. "Sentinels, Forward!" ~~~~~~ "Amber, give me one of your arrows," Onyx said. "I don't see how it'll help, he's blocked every shot I've made," Amber replied gruffly, but handed over one of his arrows anyways. "That's where we come in," Crimson replied. "We'll keep him too busy to block it! Jade, Cobalt, with me! Sentinels, Forward!"
