the dumb thing is, none of this is new it was public knowledge before the election was even over that trump's businesses were propped up by russian money, which by default is russian mob money because there's no non-mob russian money american democracy is done even if we survive this particular thing, we need to change so many rules and principles and assumptions

So did it really go Trump tells Flynn he has full support -> Bannon tells Flynn to resign -> day of limbo in which he isn't defended by the WH while being attacked -> resigns -> wanders around looking for his friend, Trump, who is nowhere to be found? That's the saddest, most insane loving thing

Trump or not Trump, fact is, ~45% of the American voting base is dramatically and painfully disconnected from reality. The Russian poo poo was obvious in god drat JULY and yet we still let the man run his campaign like it was a totally normal and legitimate operation. There are some major issues in this nation that go beyond Trump. Putin knew what they were and he exploited them masterfully. How we fix those issues is beyond me at this point. We're pretty hosed for more reasons than I can count.

My very basic bitch take on this is that if Flynn really did have Trump's support all day, and he wasn't forced to resign, this is a sign of Flynn panicking. Not that Flynn will take down Trump, but that Trump is so deep into so much bad poo poo, Trump will take down Flynn. So Flynn had to pull the trigger tonight to get as much cover and distance from the administration as fast as possible.
