If you think Bannon is an idiot you really need to take a step back and take a long, critical look at yourself. E: the black husserl posted:Who is he pissing off that matters? Where on earth is this idea coming from? I get that he's pissing YOU off, but he's doing an A+ job for the Republican party. Preibus and Bannon are basically performing a loving best buddy giggling schoolgirl routine right now, including finishing each other's sentences. was a good post and shouldn't be lost as the final post on that page

So I read the Bannon Vatican speech. He's probably one of the smartest non-military people in the administration, but having an encyclopedic knowledge of fringe political philosophies definitely doesn't translate to good governance. What's more, the dude is all over the loving place with economics. "Yeah, I hate crony capitalism where the big money buys government influence. I'm also against Ayn Rand free market type capitalism where those who are on the losing end of competition get hosed. MY capitalism is the one where wealth is evenly distributed across a broad middle class and large industries make decisions to benefit the society at large instead of just their shareholders. Somehow socialism is bad, and I'm deffo not a socialist."

Why is Trump getting knocked out considered a good thing? Then we'd be to president Mike "boy I sure hate gays" Pence. If we're going to be in the darkest timeline, I'd prefer the living embodiment of what the left hates to GW Bush II.

Trump wont be impeached in his first term because a wave in 2018 wouldn't get rid of enough Repubs. Bannon I think might be a good possibility to be gone by November because I can't imagine anyone being employed by Trump for that long who isn't related to him.

I think Flynn being forced out is a solid first step in the consolidation of Pence's power. The Republicans are not interested in normalizing relations with Putin to help out Trump's bank account, and since that's the only reason piss-face has been able to offer for not continuing to kick Putin in the balls the sanctions aren't getting dropped. At some point Putin is going to get tired of the relative stability offered by a Trump administration and leak the piss tape.
