My wife is that woman from last season who awkwardly danced during the intros.

So do online Jeopardy communities usually creepily obsess over the attractive contestants?

It's weird and creepy and it really makes me reconsider trying to go on the show. Thankfully I'm too stupid to make it on anyway.

You're a goon, the odds of people lusting after you seem low, and the uggos usually don't get any scorn. Edit: I take it back about the uggos, I googled the author of that article above. Flat uggos, anyway.

Vulture Culture posted:It's so weird to me how people get upset about contestants metagaming. You get such a big advantage from keeping your opponents asking "wait, what's this category again?" before they answer that I don't understand why all contestants don't do it all the time Because it takes away from my viewing experience.

What if I found final jeopardy easy and a contestant hot and don't mind people hunting for daily doubles?

Mister Kingdom posted:I'm too boring. I wouldn't have anything to talk to Alex about. You'd fit right in with literally every single contestant ever. My god they should just drop that portion of the show because nobody gives a gently caress about contestants' boring personal lives. They try way to hard to make the most boring poo poo sound like it would be an interesting story if the person involved was capable of telling a story without going "uh" or "um" literally every other word in said story.

At least most contestant stories are better than one poor guy's I remember. His team won, and he said he celebrated the victory with X million of his friends. Alex asked him about it, and he said he considered everyone in his city to be his friend. Sheesh.

The Jeopardy thread seems to attract a certain percentage of uptight trivia spergs who lack the usual SA and internet social graces and therefore periodically stage these fainting couch episodes when they encounter more socially well adjusted individuals who aren't afraid to boost the self esteem of a 3 with DDDs and give her some material to pretend she didn't like it and facilitate her hilarious attempt to fame whore on some third rate internet site like Vice. does anyone actually like the college / teen / kids tournaments no. they're not as good as the regular show. why do they make the fans suffer through these gimmicks

The tournament contestants usually have more personality than the regular ones, and it's fun to pick favorite contestants and cheer them on.

The kids tournament is great because you get to laugh at kids who misspell "emancipation" badly.

And kids are really the core audience for the kids' tournament anyway.

i don't mind the kids' tournament. being able to kick a seventh grader's rear end at jeopardy is one of the few ego boosts i have left on this dying rock.
