Lockback posted:DRPM has him dead last, and the -3.9 DBPM is also dead last in the NBA among players with 1000+ minutes. It's hard to really hurt your team with defensive PG play, but IT does manage it. According to the more in depth analysis Strawberry Panda linked you're definitely right that him being so awful at rebounding is killing his team. Rebounds = Possessions. However the analyst says this: that nerd from cbs posted:First, it's never one thing when the metrics are this messy. It's not like every single bucket scored is because Thomas is unable or unwilling to defend, and that's important in determining where to go from here. Here's what this data doesn't tell us: Essentially saying he ran the numbers and found no correlation significance. The Celtics are pretty much just hiding him on bad wing players like you do with any bad defensive star. The best he can do then is play harass perimeter defense since he's never going to be able to fight through screens effectively or drop back on defense. I think he does that harass defense pretty well.

What are you talking about? When he is on the court opponent ORTG is 112, when he is off it's 102. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/t/thomais02/on-off/2017 That's a huge swing, and he plays alongside Avery Bradley a lot. He's still a positive player, but I can't find a single stat that says he is neutral. on D

At some point you shouldn't let a team as bad as the Bulls to still be in the game late. Grab some loving rebounds every once in a while.

Speaking of corny leadership articles http://time.com/4672996/james-harden-rule-nba/ quote:Sitting in his office at the Toyota Center, Houston's home arena, Biles pulls out his laptop to show me a few examples. In one, Elmore extols the importance of being a thermostat who sets the temperature of the team, rather than a thermometer. Another is about the importance of "the discipline bridge," an idea that Elmore developed from seeing construction workers, after a tornado, build temporary bridges over flooded areas so they could reach houses that needed repairs. "If you're wanting to get somewhere," he says in the video, "my guarantee is that you're going to have to cross a bridge along the way, called discipline." Such talk may call to mind the Saturday Night Live self-help guru Stuart Smalley, but Harden credits the videos and sessions with Biles for helping him grow as a leader. Harden read Tony Robbins and is now averaging 29/11/8, get on it NBA
