I never played overwatch but I watched videos of it and it looked boring. Like I was just being assaulted by a barrage of noise and lights until one player or the other falls over dead. Idk why people like it other than to jack off to the character models and their boobs and butts. Maybe this is an unpopular video game opinion idk

overwatch is the same dumb bullshit as call of duty or gears multiplayer just nice and colorful to appeal to the giant children that enjoy it. in terms of sheer gameplay it's nearly nonexistent and can not compare to a vast majority of actual games. At least Call of Duty and Gears give you a story and campaign to play instead of just 5v5 deathmatch over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over jingle some keys in the form of bright lights and colorful attacks every now and then

Some unpopular video game opinions: -Arkham Origins was easily the best game of the Arkham series but it's not without its faults -Hellgate London was a pretty fun game and should have stuck around longer than it did -Bioshock failed at being a spiritual successor to System Shock in delivering atmospheric, character-driven RPG horror by being almost none of those things, i mean it was at least atmospheric but it went another way with it; that series is now at its best when its direction is wrapped around punching down at fringe politics like it's baby's first satire instead of trying to be spooky -Dragon Age 2 was actually pretty drat good, it could even have been a ~*genre elevating*~ game had it not been a rushjob that had every seam frayed and showing -AOE2 was really good for its time but it was surpassed within in its own series by both Age of Mythology and Age of Empires 3; it was surpassed within a generation by other titles like Rise of Nations -The actual best RTS of all time was World in Conflict imho -The actual story, and not just the lore, of Dark Souls 1 was really good -Dark Souls 2's lore was just as good as DS1's, i think people just disliked stepping down from dealing with the creation myth of the setting to only dealing with some scrub kingdoms' background but the most unpopular video game opinion i have is: - i will not call my opinions objectively true nor will i call you an idiot for disagreeing with me, i will respect your opinions and ideas on this silly little pastime too

Overwatch styles itself like TF2, and mechanically disguises itself as any kind of team shooter of that vein, but in reality a lot of places where things like skill, gameplay, and fun exist in a game like Team Fortress 2, it has been instead turned into a lovely skinner box that makes even the dumb idiot who went 0:30 feel special. In fact it goes far enough to make him feel special that it's probably nearly impossible to get 0:30 without the game giving you a free kill somehow. It's a sad reflection of gaming in general, and the distilled essence of what made WoW lovely: It's not a game where you 'earn' recognition by playing the game well, you earn it by mouthbreathing for enough hours, being made to feel special enough to sink your dumb loving wallet full of idiot dollars with your fat loser fingers into pudgily typing in the credit card number for the nth time to buy cosmetics and generally imagine spider-girl's fat rear end getting pumped in the 70gb overwatch folder you've got to fap with between/during matches.

Dungeons and Dragons: Dragonshard is an underrated RTS. Dungeon Siege 2 figured out how to do full-party Diablo, it's fun as gently caress, and I don't understand why nobody else does it. Even though Steam makes games cheap as gently caress, I still miss having the physical copies. Games that had instruction books with flavor and effort ruled. Half of the reason Warcraft2 was so cool is because of it's big, dumb instruction book full of metzen's dumb and edgy scribblings.

There are all sorts of interactive stories that can be told where having only one ending makes sense.
