Evan Turner has been great in the 2nd half of the season. The real problems Portland has is: lovely guard defense, and spotty outside shooters. (Turner, Aminu, Harkless) You can't run a Stotts-fense aka Carlisle-ball with average at best 3 point shooters and no real inside presence. I'm hoping Jusuf Nurkic is a better fit for the team because all teams have to do is pressure the guards and without an outlet to pass to, it leads to a lot of broken as gently caress plays. Turner with his playmaking skills actually allows for that to happen less.

They'd be a 35 win team next season unless they make a huge signing, otherwise they'd be a couple years away from Ingram (19 now) and Russell (20) being ready for a deep playoff run, but then Butler will be declining. Lakers would have money next year, but they still have Deng and Mozgov under some pretty big money so they wouldn't be able to completely load up. I think the FA thing is pretty risky unless they have an agent telling them Durant or Griffin are going to jump over.
