Yeah, the problem with things like treasure hunt/races is everyone needs to be on at the same time to do it, or have several instances run and keep times for each person I guess. It'd still be nice to do something a bit more than another costume, hence why Christmas was a stronghold decorating challenge.

I reinstalled SWTOR after a few years of not playing it, and I get solid 60 fps, but somehow camera and player movement (edit: mouse movement in general) are jerky. Does anybody have the same problem? Anybody know a solution? Google was not helpful - it's definitely a FPS problem, even happens on very low settings...

I'm trying to get my girlfriend into doing ops (at least SM) but there's a problem - she plays a telekinetic seer and isn't that great at pve in general, so her DPS is pretty low. I know seers are poo poo-tier DPS but she should still be able to compete through HM ops with a decent group. Problem is, I can't figure out what she's doing wrong. She's in 228/230s with augs and we're following the dulfy guide, which has a basic opener then a short priority system. I parsed her on the shipboard ops dummy and she's hitting 3.6k dps with a stim but no adrenal and no other buffs or debuffs on the dummy. The simcraft 5.0 sheets put her at doing about 6.5k with her gear and starparse puts 75th percentile at around 4500 (may be old data?) but I can't figure out what she's doing wrong. Is it just not being in a raid to benefit from other classes? Does her current DPS sound low for that gear level?

If the simcraft estimate assumes that those are on, I'd reparse using them (you can buy the applicator from the ship droid, if memory serves). Also, parsing with a set amount of dummy HP matters , because otherwise combat will continue while DoTs are ticking down and for some seconds afterwards, greatly lowering dps. If her dps is still low after taking those two factors into account, the most likely cultprit is APM. Look at some top dummy parses for TK. She should target an APM slightly below those (probably something like 2-3 to account for their greater alacrity and use of adrenals, but I can't be confident of that as a non-sage dps who's been away from the game for quite some time). If her APM is low, the solution is ability queuing and practice. It's important to have ability queuing set to a value she finds comfortable (I like .5 seconds) and to always trigger each ability late enough that it doesn't cancel her current cast and early enough that there's no gap before starting the next one. An average gap of even .2 seconds is a painful hit to dps. After that you have the option of working on rotation, but any approximation of a sane rotation will get you to at least 70-80% of optimal dps with good APM and uptime. That's overkill for SM and around where you want to be for HM, assuming that the tuning hasn't changed too much from pre-4.0 levels.

Ehh a TK Sage should still be able to hit 5k easily enough...I can do 6K reliably in WZ's as Lightning. Balance has the easier rotation but is less mobile and has stricter energy management. Make sure she's capped on ACC. TK is heavily proc based so misses can cause a cascade of failures. Make sure she's not casting Weaken Mind unneccessarily. Don't let it fall off either though. Turbulence and procced Mind Crush on CD are absolutely essential. Remember the DPS credo...always be pressing buttons, when in doubt cast TK Burst. All about the APM, the next ability should be queued before the GCD ends. Edit: What HundredBears said while I was busy with my WZ. Don't use Force Speed specifically to proc Clamoring Force...that's a burst increase not a dps increase.

I'm sure she can at least be carried in SM but I'd like to make sure she can do OK at HMs. At least the easier ones. She's not totally set on TK but she likes how it plays and it'll probably turn her off to the game to have to switch specs just to compete. If it's a marginal DPS increase I probably wouldn't bring it up. To parse at the 3.6k on the dummy w/o raid buffs/debuffs, she's sitting at 2pc set bonus with the following stats: 5462 mastery 2673 power 1773 crit 699 alacrity 362 accuracy E: Didn't know there was a vendor to gently caress with the training dummy. That's pretty cool. So on the 1.5m hp dummy with its debuffs, she got up to 4.5k dps with the above gear. Yeah sounds like you're on the right path. Get the accuracy up (you can get to 725 by just having two 228 crafted accuracy implants and an accuracy earpiece with two of them Accuracy augmented). I like to go that route so I can dump the accuracy in PvP. You can also use an accuracy stim to get closer to the 735 mark. I assume she's using the Focused Retribution relic and Serendipitous Assault? If you're on Jedi Covenant and want to run some practice flashpoints just let us know, most of us would be happy to hop on and help out in whatever role need. I've got a few characters on Shadowlands too, but only one Republic toon.

Thanks for the tips. I haven't played a DPS class in swtor so I had no idea what to shoot for. I guess she's a mix of 228 and 230s, with about half of those being green 228s from command crates. I'm getting her through HM FPs without issue at this point and I'm trying to dip her toes into SM ops but I'm definitely not doing any HM ops. What's a reasonable DPS target to aim for for HM ops? I can't tell if all the starparse metrics are pre-5.0 or not. The simcraft sheets are saying around 6k dps but someone earlier was putting out around 5k as a good target. I'm just looking for a single target figure that won't have people pointing fingers at the dead weight, not necessarily pro tier DPS. I wouldn't try any of the "real" Hard Mode operations if you can't pull a minimum of 6k. EV/KP will be a bit more forgiving, but once you start getting into the later ones you'll be in trouble. Sage will offer some raid benefits other than DPS with off heals and bubbles. Do you already have a raid group? Hard Mode ops aren't something you'll just be getting into pugs for, so if you're not already in a guild with an active raiding group that should be priority one. Make sure the mods and enhancements you're using are optimized - Lethal Mods (unlettered), and Initiative, Adept, and Quick Savant enhancements/earpieces/implants only.

Going to be out of game for the next few days, so put me down for roll offs (e. in this order of preference) for: -Fearsome Rage -Gloomlight Vrake -Stormcrest Vorn Tiger -Savage Phalone -Nathema Sithspawn -Corellian Stardrive Spark -Unrelenting Interceptor -or one of the companions or damaged shuttle decorations if I loose in all of the above competitions. Don't really have a strong preference this time after the first two TBH. I do love my mounts though

My Sorc is now GC lvl 300 and here is my trip report: Tier 1 (ilvl 230): Earpiece, Implants, Chest, Wrist, Glove Tier 2 (ilvl 236): Earpiece, Impant, Relic of SA, Wrist, Helmet Tier 3 (ilvl 242): Earpiece, Implants, Relic of SA, Relic of FR, Chest, Belt, Wrist Several Earpieces, Implants, and Relics that were not useful i.e. non-Adept, Serendipitous Assault, Focused Retribution. Several non-Set Bonus 234 and 240 pieces that weren't useful because I already had crafted 240 mods/enhancements. Though I feel my Set Bonus drop rate was probably on the low side I at least didn't get any copies. I also have ~2500 Command Tokens and ~900 Unassembled Components that I haven't used yet because 1) didn't want to waste them on the chance I get a drop 2) I never felt I had a gear disadvantage in WZ's. If I didn't already have Set Bonus 208's would have used Compenents to get full 230's. The GXP rate now is about right but drop rates are still horrendous, people who don't have full-Set Bonus from 4.0 get the shaft. You can easily earn 2-3 Crates an hour with or without a group. I would change the last boss of Story/Veteran Uprisings to having a chance of dropping a 230/236 Unassembled Piece. Each Uprising would drop the same piece everytime i.e. Firefrost always drops a Wrist. I would also change Planetary Missions to give Unassembled Components. GC is supposed to be about freedom to do what you want to earn gear but only Ops and WZ's drop Pieces/Components for the unlucky. This would also encourage people to run Uprisings besides Fractured.
