A page late, but whichever version of 3D Blast you guys play, I hope you at least share links to the alternative version's soundtrack. Or make them alternative tracks for the videos, like you sort of talked about doing for Sonic CD. Because both soundtracks are great. I grew up with the Genesis one, but goddamn if the Saturn's version of Rusty Ruin isn't something amazing.

Agreed, I'd also argue that the Saturn version's Special Stages are better than the main game itself.

In Megaman Xtreme 2, go to the "Part" Menu on the stage select screen. I can't remember if you have to buy parts with DNA souls, or colllecting souls lets you equip more parts, but that's what DNAssholes are used for.

You buy parts with the souls you collected.

Also since Extreme mode this time around has all the story plus an extra stage at the end it might have just been easier to get a save that had that unlocked and start from there rather than having to go through the whole game three times (especially since Zero mode is literally the same as the X mode except he takes an alternate route in the intro stage and you fight the other four mavericks).

Yeah, I forget if it's in Part 4 or 5, but we do figure that out (finally)!

We do have a plan for this, but yeah the extra content there will definitely get some face time!

It's kind of loving amazing. Still results in hitting a serious brick wall, astonishingly enough, but that'll come this week.

In the meantime, let's check out Cavern Island and see if we can't push on through it!

GunDelSol requires you to hold the button and it hits all enemies two columns ahead of you, degening their HP the longer you hold the button. It ignores mercy invincibility so it's pretty good. It also powers up if you're outside when you jack in so that Jomon laptop is officially your endgame spot for Lan.
You should use GDS 1,2 and 3 since they're the only chips on playthrough 1 which can go to 3. You might wanna use invis beforehand though since you are totally stationary while you hold the A button.

Putting GDS 1 +GDS 2 +GDS 3 together gives you the piledriver PA, which is pretty powerful, ALSO powers up if you're outside, and if there's an empty panel behind the enemy the damage is doubled.

You can also get GunDelSolEX with 74293099. It has a higher degen rate, hits in a 2x3 area 1 column ahead, and has a sweet chip icon.

Don't feel too bad about using the codes before you know them. GunDelSolEX (I love saying this :allears:) is like 30% of the reasons BN4 can be enjoyable. Another 30% coming from a 1 square BugStopper Navicust block, letting you poo poo on the Navicust rules with impunity.

BTW, when you clear the game, make sure to find the event with Django, since that gives you the NebulaCode and GDS3. You need the code to open the doors cause IIRC those have HPmemories behind them, and if you don't get em, you won't get 1000 HP in the end.

Just so you know in regards to your Xtreme 2 playthrough, you did not actually load your clear game save when starting Zero's story (the auto save thing you encountered when choosing continue has nothing to do with your actual save, the game just makes a savestate whenever you hit a checkpoint), which means you will not unlock Xtreme mode (and with it the game's true final stage/ending) upon completing it.

If you had loaded the save you made after X's story you would have started with Zero's equivalent of the weapons from the 4 bosses you fought with X already in your possession (also you may have already saved over that file by now which means you'll either have to replay X's game or track down a save file if you want to show that bit of extra content off).

Yeup, noticed this at some point around the halfway mark of the Zero Mission, but didn't bring it up until the end. Stupid oversight on my part (especially since it would have made the Zero Mission significantly easier), should have been obvious, but we do address it.

Aw, thanks man! :) We did, for a long time -- we actually started as a gaming-focused podcast in April 2011, and didn't get into YouTube content until that summer when we put out our special Sonic Week event. Originally those were six full, uncut playthroughs, posted Monday through Saturday over the week of June 23 to celebrate Sonic's 20th anniversary. But those were also flanked by two special podcast episodes, the Sunday before (focusing on the franchise up to that point) and the Sunday after (focusing on the direction the franchise was headed).

We weren't planning on becoming a Let's Play channel (and even called the YouTube channel The D-Pad Let's Play at first), treating it more like a secondary side-project until 2013 when we started up The Legendary Let's Play (and realized that the podcasting setup we had homebrewed was becoming less feasible). When we got into 2014 and Pokémon Rivals entered the equation, we knew we were transitioning over pretty hard.

I've been slowly working on curating the old episodes -- we put out 118 weekly hour-long episodes between 2011 and 2014, including 48 from the UNregular Radio studio (and then another 27 from our own studio when we parted ways) -- and hope to put them all onto the channel sometime soon. We've talked a lot about bringing it back in some form, but the schedule's been crazy and we always wind up burning a lot of our subjects in Let's Play videos. That said, there's always more to talk about, and it's much easier to talk at length about certain subjects if we're not distracted by progressing through a game.

Urf, yeah I've never been thrilled with fighting games, personally (I never have the patience to memorize combo patterns), but fighting game bosses are just agonizing. Glad John had to do it and not me!

Speaking of fisticuffs, we put out a special VS MODE episode of the game (because how could we resist?). Always amused when someone comments on a video requesting us to do a thing that we're already a step ahead of them on (especially when it's literally the next episode, haha)

If I recall correctly the stretch physics and the like actually took a lot of computing power. I remember a rather lengthy discussion over its technical aspects spread across theGHZ and GameFAQs around it. I managed to get the Super Sonic ending once, but that took quite a many hours of resetting as soon as I lost a match and trying again in frustration.

Been checking out your Zelda series between updates. I can definitely empathize with the controller frustrations. I had to do some crazy mapping with the WiiU to make it work for me with having A and B be on the shoulder buttons with L and Z be the second triggers and the C buttons as the face buttons. I know I'm two years too late but yeah.

The Sonic lets play has been pretty interesting. Tails Adventure has always been a fan,e that I've been interested in, at least since Sonic Adventure DX, but never had the patience to get very far in.

One of the things I like about your Sonic let's play vs the Run Button one is that you all are trying to get through even the C and D teir games. Also, if you do return to Sonic the Fighters for a pallet cleanser episode between the Sonic 2006 I'm pretty sure all the combo and special moves are in the menú somewhere while paused in the match. I can't remember if you need to unlock it or not. I'd confirm but I'm phone posting right now.

Yeah, we considered at one point just doing the sort of "main" games (thereby skipping stuff like the Pico games, a handful of the spinoff stuff on handhelds, etc.) but the more we looked into that, the more it felt like we were stripping out part of what made the Sonic brand so bizarre over its 26-year history. If it wasn't for games like Sonic Labyrinth and Knuckles' Chaotix, there wouldn't have been such a strong need for a major revival like Sonic Adventure. It's a fundamental part of the franchise's growth, and informs how Sega and Sonic Team chose to push it in different (and usually better) directions.

I hadn't heard of Run Button before, but I just pulled up their channel, I'll have to give them a look! I'm amused that "Pt.120" is so jarring to me, feeling like it's a huge number, despite the fact that we're already 204 videos in ourselves.

Also, IDIOT THING #1, here are the other Sonic's Schoolhouse videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-o1iGAGqvn4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNp5RCI2-xE

IDIOT THING #2, Sonic's Schoolhouse, Part 1 is actually our 200th Super Sonic Let's Play video (not counting the live/intro/teaser stuff), because the universe is run by a cruel god with a sick sense of humor.
