charlotte is actually in the lucky position that north carolina annexation laws make it relatively easy (compared to older northern cities) for it to expand its city limits, so they go pretty far out. of course the nearby state line with SC is a constraint it can't get past

im in a social security administration office and well, lots of stuff but this elderly black dude is rocking a pink flowery iphone case this woman next to me took this as an invitation to, unprompted, start showing off  pictures of flowers that she took that are gonna be printed out at walmart ("they do that for cheap!") that she's gonna use as decoration in her house ("when I have a house again")but goddammit the guy took it completely in stride and now they're chattin' about how much he likes flowers and also about how there's a sweet Chinese garden on 2nd & Yesler (this is true) and also her pictures of some fountain somewhere this dude owns my number is B61 and they've only been calling A's — send help

Venus and Mars would come much later as science outposts, if at all.
