That Shuttle was great. I still have all the pieces and the box/manual somewhere under the house. last time I looked in the box I had dismantled the thing and tried to make a terminator forearm complete with finger movement and wrist rotation. gently caress, now I wanna dig it out and rebuild the shuttle. The little satellite extending it's solar panels was my favourite thing as a kid.

Just seeing it come together is fun - all the greebling from Lego just works so well for this ship. Also was gifted the U-Wing and while looking cool - I feel the underside should be bigger based on what we saw in the movie.

The A wing is cool but seems outrageously overpriced at $40. I don't know how they managed to double the part count of the last one which seemed about the same size.

E: Just finished it and it is undeniably a cool set though. They nailed the look and the Lando fig is great.

Ordered the Assembly Square and got the $5 Valentine's Picnic set to go with, and when pkg arrived the small set wasn't in there. Emailed Lego (it was from their site) and they got back yesterday saying they were sold out and couldn't send me another one. They gave me 350 VIP points to make up for it, which is like 1.5x the amount I got from Assembly Square to begin with (about $15 in reward money). I appreciated that, seems generous even though it means I have to spend it with them instead of just getting a refund (mild bummer since it was a gift for my special lady friend).

I got 2 random Batmans in the box too, I guess I missed that promo. I haven't seen the movie yet but there's like 500 Batman outfits now.

A few days ago I saw an ebay Buy It Now listing for a boxed Metalbeard's Sea Cow for 45 Canadian dollars including shipping (less than 30 pounds in the UK) and I jumped on it even thought I figured it must have been an error. Was expecting to get a message shortly afterwards saying there was a mistake in the listing, but no, it's apparently been dispatched!

I'll believe it when I see it, especially as it must have cost more than that to ship the drat thing to the UK. Eh, if the whole thing ends up being a scam ebay always sides with the buyer anyway.

I hope it turns up for you but the one time I got scammed on eBay was a seller (with existing good feedback) who listed a bunch of new-ish Lego sets at, like, 60% of the retail price. I bought one and it never turned up so I lodged a complaint and got my money back then saw that the seller had gotten a bunch of negative feedback before the account was deleted / suspended.

Also, the last time I bought something from Canada (I'm in :australia: ) it took something like 10 weeks to show up and by the time I got it the packaging was torn to poo poo and the box half-crushed :wtc:

Oh my god, nostalgia! The Space Police Rebel Hunter was one of the first sets I tried to put together all by myself. I hosed it up and ended up making a MOC single seat starfighter that I eventually turned into a two seater with separate side-by-side cockpits for the pilot and ops. It was the only thing I intentionally held back when I shipped my childhood legos off to my cousin. Now it sits on my desk in all of its mismatched glory.

My previous Ideas Review Predictions:
Voltron possible, but the build could be questionably complex and flimsy
Spaceballs has lots of Nerd Nostalgia, but the humor doesn't really mesh with Lego's culture.
Addams Family House was too big, and not enough fan culture to support.
Merchant's House was too likely to introduce Theming to Ideas, which they don't want to do.
LHC was another science diorama, and too small-scale to be readily identifiable.
Observatory was a reasonable chance if they rescaled it.
Construction Site was too big, so no.
Women of NASA was another science diorama, so no.
UCS Landspeeder was an existing license, so nope.
Lamborghini was an existing license, so nope.
Lovelace & Babbage was another science diorama, and small enough that it lost too much detail.
Little House has basically no Lego-intersecting fanbase, and I was shocked it even got 10k votes.

Women of NASA made it, which is surprising, considering they didn't pass the second Women of Science project which was just as good as the first. The others not passing aren't surprising, though the observatory would have been something they've never done. Maybe it was too big and couldn't rescale well enough.
Make sure you buy it as soon as possible, since they did a small run on the first Women of Science set!

I'm apparently not great at predicting these, but I'll give it ago for the next round:
Boat Repair Shop: It fits with the Fishing Store, but I think that's a strike against it (but who knows! They just did a second set in a theme!)
Agents of SHIELD: Marvel, existing license, nope.
Hulkbuster UCS: See above
Lego Modular Store: Unlikely. It's large and would intrude on their existing Modular line.
Red Dwarf: Campy show with a relatively strong nerd fanbase, and a recent revival, but it may not have the oomph to make it. May depend on there being a fan in the review board.
Land Rover 4x4: Eh. It's small enough, but I just don't see it.
VW Golf: Again, eh. They also already have an existing VW series, so I don't see it happening with Ideas.
Vintage Tram: I could see this happening. It's a classic design that I don't think they've done before. Size looks appropriate, and wouldn't need licensing.
1950s Diner: Possible, but it's pretty American. Doesn't seem too large, and they can skip the car if so inclined.
Ship in a Bottle: It's a nice display piece. They've never done it before and it's not licensed, so it wouldn't be difficult. Not sure how big the market would be, though.
UCS Rey's Speeder: Existing license, nope.
Iron Giant: It's great, but it might be too large. They already have some sort of existing deal with Warner Brothers, too

The most likely this time I think is the Tram. Ship in a Bottle and Diner are possibilities, and Red Dwarf as an outside chance.

Well I'm sure with the boxes I could get more on ebay but I'm all about goon love, so if by space stuff you mean the Space lock-up and blacktron sets and what, those 3 space vehicles and the two empty box space bits? Yeah I could do that if you wanted to cover the shipping. Although I should probably give the rest of the thread a day or two to give me a lump sum offer if that's okay.
