Went 3-2 at the Tulsa Regional today. Neither Strobe nor I made the cut to top 8. I was 11th overall. I flew "Comfortably Numb" https://geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f...fortably%20Numb Round 1 vs Asajj/Dengar: Loss 57-100 My list really doesn't like multiple big ships. The ion gimmick almost never comes into play, and they're so fast that Snap Shot rarely triggers. This game was no exception. I ended up trading Biggs AND Nien for Dengar, which is not what I needed to win. Still, I almost pulled it out. Last round I tagged Asajj with her second ion token. If she hadn't killed Ten in response, she was gonna fly off the board. But it was not to be. Alas. Round 2 vs Biggs/Braylen/Poe: Loss 56-100 My buddy Tim and I seem doomed to play each other in every tournament. He and I are quite evenly matched locally, but he has a knack for pulling out the wins in a tournament setting. This was no exception. Braylen did fly off the board, but it wasn't my doing. My opponent deliberately put Braylen at board's edge to keep Ten stressed (he uses R3-A2 on Brayler) and unable to K-Turn to start ioning Poe for one more round. It paid off. Round 3 vs RAC/Dormitz: Win 100-61 Hyper aggressive list where he uses Dormitz's ability and Hyperwave Comm Scanner to get RAC into the fight on round 1 with focus/evade. He used Kylo Ren crew to show Biggs the dark side (blinded pilot). Attack was hit/crit/crit, both crits got through. I used Integrated to blow the blinded from Kylo...and then drew the other one. Doh! He ended up flying BOTH of his ships off the board. RAC got the Damaged Engine (turns are red) crit and forgot about it. He made an ill-considered boost out of Nien's arc, triggering Dauntless for a stress. Then he literally couldn't go anywhere else but off. Ten settled in behind the shuttle and gave it Damaged Engine as well in a sheer flue of luck. The game was basically over, no way I could lose, but then he dialed in a two turn (red because of crit) while stressed from a stop...and the resulting white 2 straight put him off the board. Round 4 vs Poe/Jake/Ahsoka: Win 100-0 Dude ragequit. I blew up Poe on the first real round of shooting without losing Biggs. Next round I shot range 1 at Jake (who was stressed from Nien) with Ten. I hosed up and rolled four dice...all blanks. He called me on it. Oops, means I have to re-roll with three. Got the crit needed for Ten to get his ion. Dude asked "are you really going to do that?" When I said yes, that's the rule, and he's the one who called out the miss-roll...well he got pissed, packed up his stuff, and said I'm literally the most annoying person he's ever played. (This guy and I played twice at Mustafar and he was quite ragey there too.) Round 5 vs Lando/Rebel Sympathizer: Win 100-63 Interesting build. Lando with Hotcop, Luke crew, VI. Sympathizer with 3PO, Rey. I recognized that the Sympathizer would be by far the harder to kill in the late game, and took it out first. He managed to take out Biggs and Ten without taking much damage in return. Got the perfect tallon roll into snap shot/regular shot turn with Nien to turn off his actions, but I was way behind on health and pilot skill. I did manage to land BOTH "Major Hull Breach" crits, and he was multi-stressed, so he couldn't clear them. Still, the last few crits really didn't matter much. No directs came as a result. On the last round, we both had two health left. I had to take one damage only, then deal two in return. Got lucky. This was a great game, and he was a great guy. Especially compared to the previous one.

Played a casual game with a friend tonight. I have been wanting to try the list below for awhile now. My friend is a very good player and he was flying a jank list he made (3 quads and a slaver). The list below ended up doing really well (tabled him). I don't know if I was lucky or if this list has any merit. It was fun keeping Rex behind one of the two ships to be obstructed (At one point I was behind both ships and a debris at range 3 so Rex got 7 green dice). The synergy between Kyle/Jan/Rage/Inspiring recruit was pretty great. Cassian would rage one round, next round I would do a green, removing 2 stress, Kyle gives 2 focus for removing both stress, Jan can turn one of them to an evade Rage again and get another focus on top of whatever I stacked. -Cassian Andor (35) -Tactical Jammer - 1 -Pivot Wing Title - 0 - Rage - 1 - FCS - 2 -Inspiring Recruit - 1 - Kyle Katarn -3 -Kanan -Tactical Jammer - 1 - FCS - 2 - Autoblaster Turret - 2 - Recon Specialist - 3 - Hera - 1 -Captain Rex -Sabine's Masterpiece - 1 -Jan Ors - 2 - Black market slicers - 1

I've been thinking of getting more competitive with my X-Wing playing. Can I get some help making a rebels list? I have: 2 original cores A-wing Y-wing Rebel Aces YT-1300 What are there any lists I could make with that? Does anyone see any obvious expansions that would be good to pick up?

An attack is only ever obstructed or unobstructed, no matter how many obstacles or tac jammers are in the way, you only ever get a single extra green dice.

i need some help for a friend who is coming to the 3 round 120 point escalation tournament with me next weekend. He is bound and determined to fly an imperial list and my Vet Fenn Oldman list has just wrecked him during our games in the last week, I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas for an Imp list. I barley play imp so I am a bit out of my depth. He has just about everything except the epic ships. I suggested 4 defenders but he doesn't want to do that.

Drop the TIEmk2 off the defender and give OL Juke. It's effectively a reusable Crack Shot for him when he gets the target lock.

I wonder if A Score To Settle would be a good cheap Juke replacement for OL. Only helps him against 1 enemy, but it's free and the negative part of ASTS doesn't apply as long as OL grabs the TL.

It works against anyone and helps him hit even high agility targets reliably. Asts is probably best considered a defensive upgrade since you can save your focus for defense

Well, just finished 2nd at my first tournament at my flgs after going 2-1. Very happy with how it went, doing a tournament was surprisingly tons of fun. I never would have expected myself to get into the game like that. Also, thanks for the recommendation of bringing a tray and granola bars, made life a lot easier.

I wonder how much of a poo poo fit the x-wing fb group and FFG painting board would throw if I were to put Tom of Finland style pinup art on my ships. I mean, they allow for all sorts of lewd bikini Leia art so it should be good, right? I think just adding a lightsaber and mask to any of the black leather classic Tom sketches would make for a suitable Vader. e: red frat paddle could be the lightsaber. Thinkin' about X-Wings. Ordnance is very rarely worth taking on X-Wings, because it costs more per shot than the equivalent on a ship that can take extra munitions, and taking guidance chips (like you want to) gives up the valuable mod slot. T-65 fix is a perennial chatter topic, but I wonder if something useful could be done there to either reduce the cost of ordnance on X-Wings or adding an extra die to torpedo attacks to keep up with the red dice inflation that's happening in this game. It's totally bogus thematically that X-Wings are so awful at jousting against TIE Defenders
