i thought black esteban escaped earlier.

we had assembled a big ikea couch and had a billion boxes, so i was razoring them up and throwing them outside with the door open for a while.

like an hour later I realize i don't see blesteban anywhere and usually during the day he's asleep in a cat tree.

i look all over, can't find him, look outside, can't find him, take cat food packets through the house making noise, no cat.

go back outside, nothing. esteban is now in full on "Give me that cat food" mode and screaming at me, which gets dogsteban all riled up who is following him around barking at him.

finally i open the cat food packet and dump it into a bowl and black esteban just jumped onto the counter to be like "hey what's up is that for me?"

no idea where he was hiding.

I wish I lived in a place with good lighting. My apartment gets terrible natural light and there's only overhead lighting in the bathroom and the kitchen. My pictures would still be trash, but they'd be better lit trash.

Today is the annual check up for both animals. lulah got fat(ter) and peed/pooped on the carpet behind the litterbox because her fat butt doesn't want to walk up the step. No issue getting on/off the bed or the couch. I bought a Surefeed Pet Feeder that was previously vouched for here so Nermal can still graze while Tallulah diets down. And then she stays on measured feedings for life because she can't be trusted.

e: I'm going to tell the vet about the box issue on the off chance it's not just her being a fatty.

Apparently it took a couple vet techs to hold Tallulah down in order to draw blood. The tech that brought her back said her hand is cramped from trying to hold her in place.

She also growled at the tech twice because she had to go to the bathroom. I don't think I've heard her growl before. My brain didn't even consider it as an option.

Tallulah is full of power. Ham has no sway when she doesn't want something to happen. It certainly wouldn't have hurt to try though.

Nermal has a bit of a bruised leg. She was relatively fine with them until they were actually drawing blood from her jugular, then she lost it. The tech that handled her was absolutely in love with the fact her undercoat is light colored. Now they're both stuffed on wet food and I sprayed their bedding and the cat trees with an ample amount of catnip spray.

Tallulah is 16lbs. Nermal is 11lbs.

ugh shadow peed on one of his scratchers wtf rear end in a top hat. box has fairly new litter (replaced last week) and was scooped just beforehand. no blood in the pee and he wasn't straining or anything. just being an rear end in a top hat, i guess.
