Unfortunately, Alberta is still part of Canada, so we'll share some potion of the blame for the coming plagues.

It turns out we are wrong PAS, we apparently need MAF to win a consecutive cup http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/ron-cook/2017/02/28/ron-cook-marc-andre-fleury-trade-rumors-nhl-pittsburgh-penguins/stories/201702280116 Man MAF is a nice guy and all, but what has he done to make people think like this?

If Murray is out for any reason in the playoffs MAF is going to have to have some of the hottest goaltending of his career to come near replacing him. That's hardly "depth", that's just having a starter and a backup like any other team.

ElwoodCuse posted:Didn't the mumps thing last time even get guys who got the vaccine? MMR is about 80% effective for mumps with one dose, and about 90% with two. It's more effective with the other two diseases. Canada and the US only changed over to 2 doses between like 89-91 so anyone born before that likely only ever got one. Mumps immunity also wears off over time. So even those who got 2 were 90% immune 20+ years ago and it's been wearing down the whole time.

The Rangers could beat any of the other Metro teams. They wouldn't be favored against the Pens or Caps but it's not outlandish to see them beating either.

Yeah but either or both of those series is going to be a total meat grinder. It's funny because I really wasn't expecting anything this year but they came out like gangbusters early and got my hopes up. Still a good team and I think Jeff is doing a good job rebuilding on the fly but the defense is still Real Bad and I think it'll get worse in the playoffs.

Get an analytics-darling defenseman for peanuts and just call it a day and I'd be happy. If someone offers something ridiculous for Holden/Klein/Grabner, that'd be a bonus.

First wild card spot is the gravy train for a metropolitan team. You get to let them kill each other while you coast to a conference final with whoever is left standing.
