get that OUT of my face posted:Anti-labor zealot Henry Ford knew that the best way to keep your employees from wanting to organize and form unions was to pay them a wage high enough to buy the very cars that they helped make. What Wal-Mart is doing now is nothing new or benevolent, they just so happen to be better at realizing that fact than other retailers and other large chain stores that make their employees work to the point of misery. Yeah, but its cyclical in nature, so what Henry Ford figured out in the 1920's is a now forward thinking concept. Just like hating Jews, Ford's other ideas are in vogue again. And of course Wal-Mart employs lots of economists so they knew the labor market was tightening and the balance of power was tipping ever so slightly toward employees.

Remember HMV closing all of their Canadian stores? 70 of those will now be filled by Sunrise records http://globalnews.ca/news/3274299/hmv-locations-to-be-filled-with-sunrise-records/?sf58831898=1 quote:Aside from CDs and DVDs, Sunrise will hedge its bets with board games, themed toys and a wide selection of music, film and TV apparel. So putting $40 vinyl copies of the The Wall in front will somehow move all the Hot Topic poo poo they sell?

Ok, so noting but a lot of hope, got it. Edit: to be a little less snarky, obviously there's plenty of evidence of capitalism doesn't work out super well for a lot of people, but no one has yet offered any evidence that communism would actually work. bongwizzard has a new favorite as of 21:29 on Feb 28, 2017 |
