The split toning is fine to me, but I kinda wish the crop was tighter. I think you only need one instance of 'Hey, Beautiful' to make it work.

These own. They remind me of the long, slow street stuff in Koyaanisqatsi. Wasn't there a photographer who did candid flash photography of people driving on the freeway?

No, I don't think it was either of those. Whoever did the ones I'm thinking of apparently had a whole rig on their car that would flash the car next to them, and the result was strikingly theatrical (and probably really dangerous, if the whole thing wasn't a set-up to begin with).
