So use the most popular choices between players for all the big decisions and the choices will have still mattered.

I don't actually think it would've been hard to make a sequel to ME3 if you just accept the destroy ending as canon. The other two obviously are too destructive to the setting.

Control would be the least destructive scenario while also being the most interesting. Nobody accepts Synthesis as a valid ending.

If they really wanted to redeem that ending they'd just make one game for each. Same engine and poo poo, limited amounts of new content not shared by the other games, but wildly diverging storylines. I doubt any major game stupid would ever have the balls for that though.

They're like The Old Testament and The New Testament. In Dragon Age it's all about gods being super dicks and every tribe having their own dick gods that have to be dealt with while everyone lives in basically 14th century conditions despite literal magic existing. And then there's an Inquisition.

ME meanwhile is the story of Christ returned, with the Gnosis stolen from the Reapers (who, collectively, represent "the blind idiot God" Samael). Leviathan allows you to meet the true "God". Sophia is represented by the entire Asari race, which has some pretty wild lore implications - basically, at some point, an Asari mated with a Leviathan, though I don't think that's ever explicitly stated.

Miranda, despite the name similarity, isn't Mary Magdalene. She's Thomas. Jack is Mary Magdalene. Bioware apparently couldn't bring themselves to actually do a Judas story though so that kinda sucks.

You forgot Sidonis, "burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out" which sounds like what went down in Garrus' loyalty mission except it was a headshot.

It's real easy to do a quick shitpost comparing almost anything modern in sci-fi and video games to Gnosticism because the 60s, and to a lesser extent the 90s, happened. Assassin's Creed even does it explicitly, and also, not very well, but it's clearly seen as a way to "cool up" your game about stabbing or shooting people. There's probably a lot to be said about the demographics of video game writers. At the least I'm sure a lot of them are stoners who put a few points into the Far Out tech tree.

Rannoch completely butchered the geth's character, repeated information we'd known for two games as new revelations, and sucked for it. Tuchanka was pretty cool, though.

I think the 90s happened as much as 60s, the simulation began on November 8th, 2016, so both were prerecorded stuff loaded into memory.
