Things I've thought of have included havin' a word with your OC, unless the offenders are on the OC; getting your ed committee to do an "anti-oppression training" (basically diversity training with a more explicit leftist bent and mentions of solidarity) which all members are strongly encouraged to attend, especially if they think they don't need such a training; and :thermidor:

tbh if they want to stop trolls and doxxers they should probably make the event attendee lists most orgs run on Facebook to private, at least the chat requires some approval to get in

if someone was interested in those activities, they could attend any public meeting and get info from friendly members that are more than willing to give it out if you ask, its not like they're checking membership at the door and iirc most meetings are open to everyone, members and non-members

"Security Through Obscurity" is the laughing stock of security methods even in scenarios where a) things are actually being secured and b) you aren't by your very nature open to the public at large.

If you want security, you talk about stuff that requires it on a secure channel (which isn't rocketchat) that isn't open to the public, doesn't have an automated approval process, and you only let in people you trust.

Preventing most of your membership from accessing their own communication tools by keeping them secret just seems... counterproductive. That would be like saying we need to avoid publishing times and locations of our open meetings for security reasons.
