Edit: I misread that as the Marshalls dad's last words to him. Still.

Stealth Tiger posted:Yeah it's crazy watching games from the early 90's where defenders would leave guys wide open on purpose, just daring them to shoot. And most of the time the ball handler would just look around nervously before dumping the ball back into the post. This is the short three point line too. That defense is so bad. There's no way that Rockets team made it anywhere.

Criminal Minded posted:Gat drat what the hell I ain't never watched it. ---- So, the Pels are looking to sign Steez to a 10 day contract. If they do he makes the 23rd player to sign up with the club this season. Nine players have more than 1,000 minutes played for the team, so far. Two of them left in the Boogie trade (Hield and Galloway) and a third was released after the trade to find minutes elsewhere (Terrance Jones). In 2015-16 season, they had 21 players. Again, nine of them with 1,000 or more minutes. Five of them were let go over the course of that season or lost/let-go during the off-season. There's been a fair amount of roster turnover the last six months, to say the least. Though I disagree with signing Crawford, some of the prognostication is that they want to give 10 day contracts to potential long-term players after this week. Steez will only be available for five games. If they sign a someone next week, they can have them on for the last 30 days of the season. Again, that is the wishful thinking.

That's actually all Melo. Melo's just kinda jogging around and inadvertently helped set a double screen on Rose. I mean Rose isn't a good defender, but not much he could have done there unless he wanted to just run over Melo anyway.

roundmidnight posted:Not as bad as season 2 of the loving Wire that I sat through because I thought "surely this must get better" Season 2 is a low point, but 4 is amazing so you take the ups and the downs. Like Draymond giving you great defense but occasionally kicking dudes in the balls, or Rose being back and being accused of gang rape. Ups and downs.

Season 2 is just fine. It's the worst of all of them but that's only because it's the furthest from the street and the characters on the street are the best. Big picture it's good that it's there because I like knowing where the drugs come from. The entire investigation hinging on one cop being pissed that he got a bad spot for his donated window is stupid but also reflective of how incompetent law enforcement is. Also season 2 has the scene where McNulty goes undercover with the hookers which is fun and good.

Season 3 and 5 are the ones that aren't as good. s5 because come on and s3 because Hamsterdam was just the writers being like I think this would be good policy and so then writing a story where it's good Obviously s4 is indisputably the best season and s2 is good

Dexo posted:That's actually all Melo. I can buy that. Pachulia and Melo sorta combine for a double drag screen, and Rose sorta overreacts because I bet coaches have been yelling about picking up Curry off the dribble starting from like 30ft deep. Rose has an understandable mistake and not a huge lack of effort. Also I think in general Melo's bad defense is a bigger problem than Rose's. Bad PG defense can be kinda covered, but bad defense at the 3-4 just isn't an option if you want to be a good team.
