GM and other OEMs aren't stupid. They'll take those credits all the way to the bank and keep on developing strategies to reduce emissions for expected future emissions requirements, as well as Euro 7 China 6, etc.

I guess I should say, they're all probably stupid but not THAT stupid that they just stop development work and pretend like loose standards are here to stay. Plus, it's not like they have a choice, unless they want to only sell cars in the US and also not in California, neither of which are feasible.

Let alone not a single country is going to water down their regulations and that thence ends any and all possibilty of export unless GM does an expensive re-engineer. Or sales in California if that state insists on it's own emission / economy compliance.

But then again, GM is well known for being stupid and short sighted.

$800 won't cover both the Tylenol and the photograph. You need Generic acetaminophen and a Xerox of a picture of an ambulance

They know precisely how insurance works, they want to make insurance more expensive and then blame it on the affordable care act. The objective of bills like this is to break government regulation of private insurance. Then when government run health care comes up in the future the talking point will be "we tried that, remember what a disaster Obamacare was? It only got worse when we tried to fix it!"

This does remind me we (work) have a warehouse full of old systems that are kept around to support old ones still in the field. Bullshit. You cannot walk into an ER without a $1000+ bill.

I went in in January for an Achilles tendonitis problem that I knew was going to need an MRI, I thought that the new, fancy hospital by me would have an MRI machine. It was 5:00AM on a Sunday morning. I was in, they took my vitals, saw the doctor right away who said they can't do anything, gave me a prescription for steroids and told me to follow up with an ortho place.

I was in and out in 20 minutes, and they told me there was nothing they could do.

Then I received a $1800 bill from the hospital and $600 from the doctor.

US healthcare is a loving joke. But that's not news.

Metal case.
Reconfigurable.
Mature modding base beyond what can be done with a M.
E: Arguably longer lifetime switches because the M does use a membrane as opposed to the capacitive switches in the F.

It's basically just very wide pyramid scheme, you need more healthy people paying than sick people taking, otherwise it's too expensive to cover the sick people who take. Plus, the added members gives the insurance company more bargaining power against drug companies and hospital systems

1500quidporsche posted:

This.
With the proposed changes, it looks like they just want sick people to have insurance, but to still have the protections of the ACA. That means that insurance companies can't drop the people who would cost too much money to keep healthy, can't turn away sick people, and the healthy people don't have to pay into insurance companies if they don't want to. And if they get sick, they can't be denied coverage and get a discounted rate for joining. Insurance companies are gonna get rammed like their customers used to when there was lifetime limits and diseases that would make you uninsurable
