God fuggin drat it Of course after I finally bite the bullet on fixing my exhaust the NewAge guy offers up the 3" White Widow full turboback system to me for $250 more than I paid for my 2.5" Magnaflow catback. For those unaware, the WW is a pretty good copy of the Corksport system. UUUURRRGGGG. I wonder if I can resell the magnaflow for a decent return.

Oh poo poo, I knew OIF guys were shy about their service, but I didn't even know that my boss was a Marine until I started drinking with his brother in law. My boss was on the ground in some of the worst of Fallujah and I never heard him mention the military at all, despite me working there for the better part of a year

I took a little road trip to Arkansas for work, and had some time to kill on Friday with the rental car. Went online and searched around, found the Talimena Scenic Byway on OK-1 and AR-88, which passes up and over the mountains in the Ouachita National Forest. I'd highly recommend the drive to anybody who finds themselves in the area. If you're heading in to make a weekend of it, you should check out the twisty sections of AR-7 between Hot Springs and the Missouri border as well. I've only ever lived in flat states and driven on straight, lovely roads laid on a grid and chock full of potholes. This is really giving me the impetus to pick up and move South.

Man, sometimes product research really gets me down. I hate buying something when I assume it can do what I think it can, only to find out later that it can't. I just bought a home theater receiver with multiple inputs and one HDMI output, only to learn that it doesn't convert analog video to digital. This is the first time I've bought a receiver in 22 years but still, how much research should someone have to do? I spent a considerable amount of time settling on the unit I did. On the other hand, I really didn't want to spend more than what I did, so I'm out of luck anyway. I've learned that receivers that can A to D are much more expensive. But I was looking for that really convenient aspect of using the TV as a monitor and the receiver as the only source switcher. I only have one video game that I seldom play so it's really not that big of a deal to switch the TV input IF I decide I want to, but still. And I've seen that they do sell little converter boxes, which would be fine, but how much do I want to spend just to save me literally one second's worth of button pushing, to do an activity that is nothing but button pushing? Sigh. I guess the Stones were right. I can't get no satisfaction. Not on a budget anyway. NoWake posted:
That strikes me as a weird thing to say, unless you really like the humidity and southern culture. Literally everywhere else has curvy roads too. Street view this poo poo that is only 5 minutes from my house: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.498...12!8i6656?hl=en On the other hand, don't move to Denver. Feels like half the loving plates I see on the highway are from out of state now, from assholes flooding the area from whatever shithole they used to live in, because "they heard Denver was awesome". I mean, I'm a transplant too, but I moved here 18 years ago when house prices were low and you couldn't even buy booze on Sunday. After the last place I jumped on Amazon and in 5 minutes had the adapter I needed and a hose to make it reach.

I will be looking for suggestions but it looks like ANY road up in northern California fits the bill.

We took the son of one of our friends out in the R to teach him how to drive stick and when we went home my wife (who drove back) said "I don't like the R anymore" and that was that. It's messed up a lot of things in that vein too, that big NA straight 6 delivers it's power in such a satisfying way. Now I get why people want GT coupes, why people want NA engines. We currently have a NX 200t as a loaner though and this thing loving sucks. I always bop my head on the center light cluster that sits above the rear view mirror because everything is so closed in and just close to you. I'll go to back up and smack my forehead on it when I wrench around to look out the back window but all I find is a bunch of headrests and a tiny gunner slit where I can't see a drat. Turn back around and use my mirrors and the rearview camera instead. It's quick but it feels dead, the fit and finish is amazing but I'm sitting above the ground high for no reason and have no space in the thing because of it. It is an F-sport model though so you can turn it on to SPORT MODE and change gears with the paddles and while that is a bit more fun it still feels dead. My wife hates it hard because it's a CUV and she's judging the poo poo out of herself for being in it. Modus Man posted:As someone who lives in southeast michigan, I feel your pain. Our roads tend to be in excellent shape though what with the weather and all.
