The repeated failure to find the Hakurei Shrine's goshintai, along with Yukari beating up Tenshi for putting a keystone in it but not caring about Kanako having a little branch shrine suggests there's something weird about the Hakurei God anyways.

i generally like the paradigm that's at hand whereby the games introduce some off-the-wall largely-disconnected plot and then the print works flesh them out and tie them together into a greater whole.

Reimu has a Goshinboku (Goshintai Tree) in her backyard. It was even mentioned recently in WaHH, when Marisa tripped over its root and Reimu claimed that the shrine's god had saved her from walking off a cliff.

Everyone forgets to fly in Forbidden Scrollery. PMiSS says that she probably only uses the broom because it's classical witch gear, though it doesn't say for sure if she needs it or not. She can fly around in the IaMP-Hisoutensoku fighting games without it.

Marisa also flies around as the extra boss of Fairy Wars without needing her broom. So it's definitely part of the uniform, just like the giant witch hat.

I've finally gotten a chance to go through the recent Strange Creators release and even though there's no cross-review, there's an awards ceremony of sorts given out by a handful of the playable characters for IaMP and PoFV. Apparently Suika thinks Remilia had the best danmaku but Yuyuko was the best partygoer. Then for Cirno, she thought Marisa had the best danmaku because she couldn't freeze her lazer, thought Medicine was the most "sinful" because of her poison, and taunted Mystia (or as she called her "Bird") saying that her food stand would totally get beaten at the next festival (sales-wise, presumably). Also, Eiki just gave three "most sinful" awards (Sakuya, Marisa, Komachi).

Clownpiece is directly responsible for the revelation that Youmu flipping out and trying to murder people only earns a "You're becoming a mean drunk" and "That's our Youmu!", possibly the greatest scene in all of Touhistory.
