Maybe Bernie senses it too and that's why he keeps returning to WV.

The entire state history of WV is built around exploitation of natural resources -- coal, timber, land, labor, etc -- by outside forces. The problem with most Dems in WV right now is that they're seen as outsiders, which brings back a bunch of bad memories (something something glass beads). If Bernie can win the southern coalfields, there's nothing really stopping someone who's cast in his light from winning the state.
