a few years back i went to a wedding with my girlfriend and her parents. it was two people my girlfriend had gone to highschool with but never been super friendly with but her parents and their parents were friends so when somebody bailed last minute we got backup invites. as soon as we walked in i noticed a really prominent hedgehog theme. the wedding favours were tea towels with hedgehogs embroidered on them and at the front by the guestbook is a portrait of their sonic... characters? like two characters they'd invented as their sonic personas and then commissioned someone to draw a portrait of them getting married. alarm bells are going off in my head at this point but free food and booze is free food and booze. the ceremony is short and uneventful and then the speeches begin. the groom makes REPEATED mentions of sonic, thanking his stepdad to introducing him to sonic, etc etc. he then got out a guitar and played the solo from megadeth's symphony of destruction before the dj went on?? the whole thing was really weird and surreal. a few months later i heard they were having troubles. first they were short on cash, then it turned out he'd emptied their savings account for some reason. my first instinct was drugs because how else do you spend like nine grand in a couple of months with nothing to show for it. we weren't sure which drug at first but once we found out it all made sense. someone had introduced him to cocaine and he'd blown all their cash on it because sonic fans gotta go fast
