Dragon Age Inquisition areas vs Andromeda planets: Instead of Strongholds to take over you have Enemy Bases to take over. Instead of High Dragons to slay you have high level native wildlife boss fights. Instead of establishing camps to resupply, rest, and fast travel to you call in drop pods to resupply and fast travel to. Instead of collecting leather, metal, cloth, and herbs for crafting, you scan for minerals and elements for crafting. Instead of activating Astrarium Puzzles to unlock vaults, you're activating Remnant Artifacts to unlock... vaults. Doing these things give you a resource called Inquisition Power in DAI, doing these things increase a planet's habitability in MEA. Can anyone tell me if Andromeda also features landmarks and random Rift fights with demonic aliens? Or large collectathons with items spread across many different planets?

hi there, i'm a mass effect fanboy who used to champion the me3 ending because lol and after playing 5 hours MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA i can tell you that it is bollocks and its bad and i might, maybe, buy it super cheap in the future and maybe play it when i don't have anything better to do but this is not that day. everything feels off and full of jank. scanning is so bad (and i like me2 scanning) that even on the first desert planet i got to, the game kept closing the scanning menu every time i tried to bring it up to progress. even the game thinks it is bad. i actually thought the animations and delays and poo poo were hardware issues maybe but lol. nope. i like the map transitioning things tho in the galaxy map and how you can see where you are in the galaxy. they've gone well above peak bioware writing tho, everyone feels stupidly self aware like amatuer school play with no rehearsals. and the bad voice acting isnt helping. even zelda had more natural voice direction going on. loving zelda. (zeldas voice acting is real bad FYI) there was a part where i considered muting everything after i kept hearing PATHFINDER every 2 seconds. combat feels like someone at bioware decided that me1 combat was the best and went back to it. eh. charge still owns tho. kinda surprised how badly they hosed this up, thank god for this loving trial otherwise i would have been pissed at spending 50 quid at it. the gently caress happened. speaking of which, how are we travelling around without mass relays? i tried to piece together a timeline and it seems to be after me2 when they all left the milky way right? ah gently caress it, who cares. Reddit post says "Good news: It's all fixable with quality of life patches in the upcoming months." If that's true, then I'll wait until the game has been out for a while probably. I want to like this game goddamit. If I play it at launch I might never be able to take it seriously.

Finished the singleplayer trial. Still got about a little less than three hours of play time, but man this is seriously a weak start. I am trying to convince my friends that preordered to cancel and at least wait until release reviews. I am certainly glad I didn't spend more than 5 bucks for Origin Access to play the trial.

Multiplayer games it's more about who I'm playing with than the setting, so things like FFXIV are okay. I'll probably pick up TW3 when I feel like I really want to go back to a good old fantasy setting, but I'm still kinda hesitant because I don't like the zero character customization main character.

Andromeda takes place within the Heleus Cluster. The Normandy never used a Mass Relay to travel within a single Cluster. It used Relays to travel between Clusters.

There's a pretty substantial correlation between people who really vocally like Bioware games and vocally hate the Witcher. Come to think of it, I don't think I've really seen much vocal dislike of the Witcher anywhere except discussions of Bioware games, DA:I in particular. Why is this?

Paradox games are basically just maps and interface and rather simple event coding with more or less hardcoded underlying coded mechanics, improving upon them is going to be a lot easier than an AAA monstrosity such as this.

Yeah I love RPGs. Let me play this game with a premade character with full voice acting and cinematic cutscenes. Sometimes I get to choose whether my character wants more money, or accepts the recommended amount of money. Oh sweet, I leveled up. I think I'd like 5% extra damage with light attacks, thank you.
