I'm almost there. Working Club Venus right now.

But I think it was Club Jupiter when he was hiding behind a street lamp with the two hostesses I found the most hilarious.

Hell the whole game is full of laughs yet provides the pleasure of beating the poo poo out of people and when I get bored can disco or gamble or eat or fish or... you get the picture.

I used this for all that weapon stuff https://www.gamefaqs.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451?page=8#section289

Still a tad confusing even with the guide, but it helps.

If you get frustrated, http://www.khhsubs.com/rggzero/pocketcircuit.html will get you through. There are translation issues, but looking at the pictures and mapping the course names you'll figure it out in a couple minutes.

It's a well designed game. Without the guide you can spot what tires and bumpers are used for the CPU cars to give you a heads up.

How to cock it up, Fig. I

How frustrated will I be if I go back to Yakuza 4/5 now that I've experienced 0? I had bought 4 but never played it and now I'm blitzing through 0 and enjoying the poo poo out of this. I think the last time I had this level of enjoyment was Saint's Row 3.

Not very I should think? The worst part is that your weapons and armor are shared inventory with your healing items so you have to manage it more.

e : also, storywise they directly tie together, 0 -> 4 -> 5

So what's gonna be the recommended order of play once Kiwami is released in the US? 0 -> K -> ??? -> 6

Assuming you don't have a PS2...

Y0 -> YK -> Y4 -> Y5 -> Y3 if you feel like it I guess I'd skip -> Y6

that's personal though, Y3 is just really weak, it's not BAD.

3 is a bit weak, yeah, but 5 drags longer than it ought to. I'd say still just play them in approximate numerical order.

JazzFlight

Oooooooooooh!

I played through 0 first, then breezed through 1 with all the sidequests (aside from dating), and got slowed down mid-way through 2. I lost a little motivation with the sidequests since they're definitely not as interesting as the ones in 0 and there's only so much you can do to fight through the janky nature of the outdated graphics and camera system. When I could be playing Horizon Zero Dawn instead, it's tough to say, "yes, I'll play this old PS2 game."

Still love the story, though. I'm sure I'll finish it.

Yeah, I think the most you'll need to know about 3 going forward with the rest of the series is that Kiryu put a rival in jail.

Got to the final "no really, this is the point of no return" mission at 70hours and 75% completion. Going around and clearing as much as I can without diving into all the gambling mini games. The weapon collection stuff still doesn't make much sense, I'll have to give it another stab tonight. I'm excited to try out the fight club stuff, I blew past it because I got wrapped up in the story. Nishitani is such a cool guy once you get through the crazy. I've been using the KHHSubs guide for certain stuff, but I've found that I don't actually want to with Pocket Circuit. It just feels so satisfying to tweak the parts myself until something clicks and suddenly I win instead of flying off the track or literally dying on a slope.

That's cool and more power to you.

What the hell determines my club ranking. I'm at an A right now, is it overall levels of my hostesses or number of fans?

Number of fans determines ranking. Also, Mega Rich customers need very high stats in their favored areas and often request hostesses by name. Pay attention to your roster. By the time you're getting to "Mega Rich" people on the regular you should have at least a few platinum hostesses and several golds to make up for the rest.

You should be matching up what skill the customer is there for rather than what type he likes, try to match both for the mega rich

Yeah, I tend to toss in the towel when I find around 8 or 9 properties and due to all the random stuff happening on the street I'll look up the missing one. This is after I walk around the areas twice hoping the giant "Look" appears.

Yeah, I just don't think everyone is leveled up enough. Only platinum ones I'm missing will be when I take over the remaining clubs.

I do feel a weird sense when I send the chick with the cheetah shirt and purple hair to a customer and they hit it off.

The thing I missed for way too long is that the mega rich guys will ask for certain girls. As an example, you go to seat them and the table is green for Skill, but immediately above it will say Saki instead of Skill. Or a pink table might say Ai instead of love. Don't be afraid to pull a girl off a average/wealthy dude's table to make a mega rich guy happy. You don't really lose anything on the existing table, the guy just picks up where he left off with the next girl. Shuffling girls becomes more relevant during the 4th and 5th clubs

Also if you want to have an easy time with the battles, just grind until you have about 150% of the club's fans goal. A few people in the thread had trouble with Moon, but I finished with over double the final total, even after having my club completely cleared out twice in the last minute.

Yeah thanks, cleared out Moon today easily first try. :toot: Finally got in a groove swapping around and had luck that I had skills on staff that the patrons gravitated to.

So basically with that, all I have left for Majima substories is finish up hostess training (I'm sorta lazy on that, just drags on and I get nuked on date nights) and the disco ones which well...I suck at.

Still trying to figure out what to do with Majima's abilities. I have around 2 billion to spend, and well earning cash is nothing compared to what Kiryu can do. While I like the cabaret game, I'm burned out on it and frankly compared to Kiryu's method of hitting a few buttons and waiting to collect ten times the amount just seems way off.

I had to beat her on normal difficulty. She seemed to make more mistakes on that difficulty. Though, the AI's score fluctuates so it may have been a lucky break.

To go quickly is foolish. To go slowly is prudent. Not to go; that is wisdom.
I beat her on Hard, she has less time to take extra steps. If you hit every note (which I admit is a tall order), you'll win 50% of the time.

Disco Dancing is really easy if you get into the beat and the timing on the button prompts (which admittedly takes some practice). Basically just Always Be Stepping in time to the beat and land on the prompt in time. It is hard, but it's kinda not as hard as it seems once you get used to it.

A helpful thing about the dancing game: the more squares you walk into before hitting the next beat, the more points you will get and you also fill your fever gauge faster. After I learned that I beat the 3 challengers that i've met so far on medium.

Problem I have is basically I can go fairly flawless then it goes to the quick one step part, I screw up early and end up watching the whole "trail" disappear as I try to recover in some haphazard manner.

I'll revisit it. Right now I'm just going to plow through the rest of the main story. At the next to the last chapter.

I'm in a huge huff about the dancing mini game now.

I'll get longer max combos than her, always get 3 stars and yet she will get literally twice the amount of steps and overall score every loving time on both easy and normal. I'm trying to get more steps in but it is far too hard because the analog sticks are completely unsuited for this mini game and the D pad controls feel a bit laggy. It plays like some storyline bit that you aren't supposed to be able to win.

I'm not stranger to rhythm games but I just can not do this.

Really pissed because it means I won't get completion for either the substory or collecting all of the hostesses.
