It's time to just accept this game for what it is. A lot of the complaints are overblown, many of the meme-y gifs are of hard to reproduce bugs, but that doesn't change the fact that this game has bad animations (yes, even for Mass Effect) and is merely serviceable in a lot of other areas. Combat and MP are what stick out as legitimately good. Doesn't mean people aren't going to have fun with this game, but don't expect to be wowed. This is a game you play because it does well enough to justify being the only space opera shooter/RPG game in town. Wait for it to go on sale, probably.

I've watched a bunch more of that giant bomb playthrough and I still think that lady is an outlier in terms of bizarrely bad animations the dialogue is really standard for bioware in that its mostly utilitarian with some sarcasm thrown in

Some of it is fine, bordering on good, but the quality is all over the place. I knew an English major who was hired by Microsoft, years ago, to do emergency editing on the Mass Effect script. She made it sound like it was a total disaster, which is not surprising for a sprawling script. If 2006 Bioware/Microsoft barely got the script edited in time for VA work I imagine 2016 Bioware/EA may have just run out of time.
