THUNDERDOME LOSER

Was wanderin' around some physical stores looking for Binding of Isaac, because I'm under the impression I'd enjoy it but never picked it up previously. I kept seeing all these signs like:

$100 off a Switchto BlahBlah insurance.

Now's a great time to Switchphone service.

Advertisers are really taking this opportunity.

Horizon is good if you never want to wander off path, it's an open world but it's very regimented. The robots don't interact with each other in dynamic ways for example they're always only in their pre described areas. You also can't climb everything you see which is a bummer. Good game though.

Yeah this is one thing that annoyed me (the climbing). Like, you can't even climb a rock to get out of a river unless its completely water level. Aloy is completely clueless how to get around obstacles that don't have grip points or are above her jumping height.

The only robo-interaction is that regular robots dinos WILL attack corrupted robo dinos

I wonder when we're going to get virtual console for the Switch? I haven't owned a home Nintendo console since the NES and there are a bunch of games I'd love to go back and play. Wind Waker and Metroid Prime, particularly.

I also wonder if Switch will get the remastered Wind Waker that Wii U got? I am ready to shell out a lot of money to Nintendo. Hopefully they oblige.

As an aside, I'm enjoying the poo poo out of the core functionality of the Switch. Being able to undock a home console and take it with you as a portable seems like such an obvious idea, and I'm glad they pulled it off well. Getting in some time with Zelda at work during lunch has been pretty rad. If indie devs support it well, it'll be my go-to platform for most games.

They need to make Mallow and Geno come back with some sort of ridiculous 3D mario RPG that takes a 100 hours to beat.

The Paper Mario stuff is OK but I feel like they should go back to some crazy story about power rangers with dumb new characters. It was so good.

I think I'll have to send the Joy-Con in, but my right-side Joy-Con doesn't seem to actually be detected when I slide it in to the Switch. It works just fine (since it transmits wirelessly), but if I put the Switch in airplane mode, the right side controller no longer works. I'm sure it's the Joy-Con because I have another pair and that works fine. Is there some home repair thing I can do or do I have to send the thing off?

I haven't gotten that "far" so I can't comment. I will say, while I don't want to just make assumptions and take credit away from the original writing team, it's surprising how much stuff gets added in localization. I recently learned that Donnel's whole aw-shucks farm boy personality was invented by Awakening's western localization.

I think part of the problem with the voice acting is that the pacing is a bit off because it seems like they're trying to match the lines to start/stop when the mouths do. I'm going to assume they used the same animations for every region, seeing as they don't try to do any true lip-syncing, just the start/stop crap. It just ends up like "Why are you putting all these weird pauses in your sentences, Mipha?"

Someone in the thread said there was slowdown in Binding of Isaac in the Womb...I didn't see any at all. And I had a room full of enemies and large rooms and same frame rate as normal. I know the Vita version DID have slowdown in the womb and that got patched after a point. And I have that version so I seen first hand the slowdown on the Vita release.

the connection is under the bottom lip of the rail on the joycon. Maybe check that everything looks good there and makes a good connection when snapped into the switch.

A lot of the voice acting is just kinda phoned-in. However, like some person on my twitter feed a while back, I choose to believe that "actor doing a bad British accent" is just what a Hyrulian accent sounds like, like in Lord of the Rings.

To be fair, I think people forget to realize Skyrim released in 2011 - with development that started over 10 years ago.

A lot has changed.

Now if Black Marsh launches and we see little difference (Which we won't) then lets talk :)

For those that bought Isaac, have you tried the daily challenge yet? I did one and it crashed trying to pull up the leaderboard afterwards. Now, every time I try accessing the daily challenge, it crashes (presumably trying to pull up the leaderboard.)

Edit: never mind, seems to have fixed itself.

I didn't forget but even for he time period the problems of sameness and broken combat were evident. The fact that they will inevitably want full price for their game on switch makes them fair game
