Fasten and Ride Austin had problems the first night but it got fixed pretty quickly. I wonder if we couldn't get the lege to kill the Uber bill by pointing them to the tweets and saying "Look how mad this is making Californians! Isn't it great?!"

As for why it didn't work that way in Austin they were hoping to hold us up as an example to others and basically trade on the hip and trendy Austin brand. Looks like Uber didn't want to miss the Super Bowl and Houston, in exchange, cut down on licensing costs. Also eliminated drug tests. Kept the fingerprint check though. Which is odd because isn't that what provoked Uber into pulling out of Austin? Whatever. In any case, the fact that other companies filled the void left by Uber/Lyft says a lot about how "burdensome" the regulations really are. We safely generate enough business to were they can't ignore us and we can still tell them they can go gently caress themselves. They tried pulling the same poo poo and it didn't work.
