He retired in 2013 and they've been reruns (wedding story was 1997 according to Wikipedia) since then. Nobody posted them to the last thread so we have a nice backlog to catch up.

I agree, actually. There's a difference between characters like Andy, who are supposed to be rotten, and characters like Les or McEldowney's crowd, who we're expected to find charming, clever, and sympathetic.

There's a strong case for Funky Winkerbean, but I've got to go with Luann. Even Les Moore isn't as bad as Gunther.

I feel like Luann is a more consistent onslaught of bad characters, but I have to disagree that any of them surpasses Les for concentrated awful - even the Evanses (seem) to have enough self-awareness to have characters not constantly dwell on past relationships. It's a race to the bottom regardless, to be sure.

Eh, personally,. I find this incredibly pathetic and just really too "tryhard"

but then again, I think Patis is complete garbage and his "wink wink im so terrible" schtick went stale years ago.
And Foxtrot is just repeating the same jokes over and over. He could have Fast-Forwarded the strip and breathed a little life into it by making Jason 14, Paige, uhh the other guys age, and the other guy be in college.
