A good loophole to get out of a bad contract via some sort of violation. Hrmm... How patriotic do you think Dan Girardi is?

I think there will be one or two - mostly younger guys on low value contracts or maybe the odd star that's good enough he can tell them to gently caress off and get away with it but it's not going to be a large scale issue.

Well we know at least that Ovechkin and presumably any other potential Olympians on the Caps roster will get to go unless the league itself sanctions them, though Ovi could probably afford to not give a poo poo about that either with a fat stack of KHL cash surely waiting for him if he wants it.

N: Alexander Wennberg won't play today due to a stiff neck which resulted from a questionable cross-check/head first into the boards hit by Ryan Strome. V: No penalty was called on the play. Good job, NHL.

CBJ/NJD summary, in case you missed it: -Sedlak (PS, SHG) -Jenner (SHG) -Henrique (PPG which is challenged for offside and man it was close. Could also have been challenged for goalie interference which also would've been close.) -Anderson awarded a penalty shot being tripped by Dalton Prout. (e- Play is reviewed for a possible goal before the penalty shot would've been necessary). --Anderson is injured and Torts is initially approved to replace him with Sam Gagner. Hynes argues and is right for what it's worth, so they force Torts to replace him with Dubinsky. -Dubinsky (PSG). kill me now posted:alternatively I argued he was going down yesterday but even the NYI announcers were saying "Strome took him in pretty hard...".
