I hope the game ends abruptly and incoherently, explaining nothing, to be followed by a small extension after negative fan feedback that does a little to address concerns brought up in the wake of the ending and even stirs hope that maybe the story can be salvaged but ultimately is never really delivered on!

For best effect, it should be followed by another project from the same IP set in a completely different time and space with totally new characters to avoid having to fix or interact with the debacle of an ending the original had.

Good to know, thank you.

Hopefully they just straight up give us the option to save soon, though.

Who the hell thought that this planet to planet transition was good? It is this ridiculous process of zoom out, travel for way too long, zoom in. Yeah it's really bad. I used to really like exploring but now it's a chore.

It'd be fine if it was just a way to transition between planets we can explore. It's not that though. The thing we're doing when we go to a planet that don't have a (!) on them is checking to see if we can mine 60 palladium from it. We're doing tedious busy work and the game punishes that busy work by making it needlessly more time consuming.

Yeah I thought Lance was this weird dinky wannabe Throw at first but the more I see the more interesting it is. But is it 5% or 50% shields per use? The in-game description says "Shield cost: 0.5" and I'm not sure what that translates to. 5% of shields to activate a power seems insane; you could use spam that thing twenty times in a row if that's the case.

I think I'll save Annihilation for my melee-based Vanguard Ryder. Tons of enemies tend to be shield-based from what I can tell so far, so for my main Sentinel build, I'm thinking Overload plus Energy Drain (spec'd to prime detonations at Rank 5) plus Lance. So the combat order goes Overload to prime -> Lance to detonate -> Energy Drain to restore shields and prime again -> Lance to detonate again. Non-stop electro bombs. :science:

ME2 and ME3 have excellent PC ports (look up the ME2 mod for load screens, though). The ME1 port isn't great but that's also in the context of the PCs available when it was released. Doesn't really matter with modern systems.

They're all competent enough PC ports. You can download an easy to install mod that will give you full controller support if you down like the keyboard and mouse controls.

Yeah, although I didn't see any really worth reading in the first four systems - I guess since everyone's new to Andromeda there aren't as many interesting tidbits about pirates or eccentric rich people to scatter around.

I played the trial up to the end of the plot missions anyway but it would've been nice to mess around with the sidequests and stuff some more.

I've seen a lot of people critique the animation or some of the graphics, but I've got to play on absolute minimum graphical specs to be able to run at a playable framerate anyway so I don't really notice.

they're all pretty much fine and way better than playing on a console tbh. people ragged on ME1 but the UI is mostly better than on 360 (though it's still shite). get the texture overhaul for ME1 if you can though because garrus' face being a blurred ps2-level oddity persisted through the entire run of patches for some reason

raycievik's retrospective vid on me3 throws up an interesting point that i found hard to articulate other than 'i really like this combat holy poo poo' - the faster pace (with the changes to power recharging and enemies that drive you out of cover) and lack of enemies posted across chasms means that combined with the more precise aiming and hotkeys on pc the combat just flies and is just an awesome mess of particle effects, even if i feel the ui/controls as a whole probably works slightly better with a controller

As far as I can tell there's no evolution for Energy Drain to give shields beyond your maximum. The same Rank 5 spec that allows you to prime with the power does restore 6% shields per second for four seconds though (in addition to the amount it already restored, of course), which is improvable with the power duration stuff in the Auxiliary Systems tree.

The most direct way to improve shields would probably be leveling Barrier in the Biotics section.
