It's incredibly lazy and speaks to trying to make something as distinct as possible as quickly as possible while basically being what came before. There's no confidence in their own idea. The differences should have been, well, bigger. We've seen blue and white before - it's the colors of the Systems Alliance, worn by Ashley and Kaidan in ME3. Perhaps the Andromeda Initiative could have gone with a scheme utilizing green? After all, it might help tie the multi-species cooperative effort to the whole Synthesis idea. That's just off the top of my head. But a palette inversion is just lazy. Slim Killington posted:I think that's more meant to illustrate doing the bare minimum. Not "how dare they change it" but more "wow you changed the armor color, everything's so different now", hence the doing the bare minimum comment. I could be wrong, that's how I took it. Bingo.

Yeah the fiend fight was great. I was running Mattock Vanguard, so it become a game of zipping around on the rooftops with charge/jetpack and raining fire down on the poor ground-pounder. At one point the fiend had me in a corner then kett reinforcements showed up, and I managed to jump over the big guy's and charge halfway across the outpost. More poo poo like that please.

Hit the lockout portion of the paid demo. Not a great game but I've played worse and combat is fun. I don't have high hopes for the story as the writing and dialogue seem poor and at least in the demo you can't make any real choices. But that was a disappointment in ME3 as well where all your big choices got reduced into a report card.

Witcher 3 was okay but it wasn't even the best game of the year it came out. Goons have mythologized it to hilarious standards. Also, that game had some jank-rear end animations. I like how Geralt flopped like a fish every time he died.

I like how Geralt flopped like a fish every time he died. Witcher 3 wasn't really good because of good animation but due to world building especially having some of the best sidequests in the open world genre. They are kinda exemplary because they even make "go fetch x and kill thing" actually intermingle with someone's life and let toy with the outcome in some way. I think it was far from perfect and I'll admit that much. If it helps i'm not a goon hivemind because i think bloodborne was not nearly as good as everyone says. I also think this game can be good and still do somethings better and worse than witcher 3 simultaneously. SectumSempra fucked around with this message at 23:36 on Mar 19, 2017 |

Milky Moor posted:They literally inverted the colors and flipped the N7 badge upside down. It's incredibly lazy and speaks to trying to make something as distinct as possible as quickly as possible while basically being what came before. There's no confidence in their own idea. Ashley and Kaidan's armor in ME3 was dark navy blue, almost indigo. Any lighter highlights are minimal and understated. It matches the Systems Alliance identity of sci-fi military personnel; Shepard's own uniforms in ME3 were comparable. The impression it gives is "We're serious military people doing serious military things. Things are pretty serious, eh?" which fits with ME3's overall tone. The Andromeda Initiative's primary color base is white with paler blue trims. It gives the impression of being less militaristic, less solemn. The impression instead is that of scientists, doctors, or astronauts (think: Liara). Cerberus went with a comparable design, except Cerberus also had heavy black portions on their outfits to make sure we knew they were just a little bit hardcore or whatever. You say they literally inverted the colors, and that's technically true. The problem is that this isn't a problem!..not when the inverted colors give a completely different design impression that fits with the completely different impression that the Andromeda Initiative should have.
