I keep seeing these pro-DPRK memes on facebook and they keep arguing about whether it's good or bad in one of the tankie groups I'm in and I don't really know a lot about it so someone tell me if DPRK is good or bad. I guess they think it's like a conspiracy by imperalists and South Korea that all of the refugee accounts of people who escaped NK are like paid to say that stuff or something and America is bad? I dunno. Thanks 4 your help.

http://thediplomat.com/2014/12/the-strange-tale-of-yeonmi-park/quote:You’d have to have been inhuman not to be moved. But – and you’re going to hear a lot of “buts” – was the story she told of her life in North Korea accurate? The more speeches and interviews I read, watch and hear Park give, the more I become aware of serious inconsistencies in her story that suggest it wasn’t. Whether this matters is up to the reader to decide, but my concern is if someone with such a high profile twists their story to fit the narrative we have come to expect from North Korean defectors, our perspective of the country could become dangerously skewed. We need to have a full and truthful picture of life in North Korea if we are to help those living under its abysmally cruel regime and those who try to flee. :giantthinkingemoji:

Pro-DPRK ppl are dumbasses, is there anti-DPRK propaganda spread by the US and SK gov constantly? Yes. Is NK so hosed because of US scorched Earth policy during the Korean and trade isolation afterwards? Yes. But NK is still a horrible fascist state with starving citizens and totalitarianism, if you go to SK you can find tons of ppl that have visited or formerly lived there and they'll tell you themselves lol

Yes. trade isolationism is literally the state ideology under juche. of course they don't actually follow that because juche was invented so that kim il sung could have his own ideology to match mao, there's a factory district they jointly operate with the south that the north shuts down whenever kim feels like having a tantrum

So the US army came back with a full armored battalion, jet cover, and a mechanical truck saw to cut the drat thing down. They all almost started WW3 over a drat tree.
