Run down the wing for me
I enjoyed this race (good twitchy wrecky attacky fun) and this is a good article about some good gossipy drama and some old stories about pack etiquette.

I remember it being shit.

Kwiat played that just right. Sagan did a Cancelarra and not in a good way

Kwaito and Alaphillipe both had legit threats to win (Viviani, Gaviria) in the group, had no reason to work. Sagan had to lead that one out. Also, Kwaito did a perfect track sprint (let a gap open up and then accelerate in the slipstream before coming around) to win that. Good stuff.

I thought that was some solid entertainment in the last ten km. Edge of your seat stuff. From the way dumoulin got denied by the sky train to the super close sprint. Good stuff

Sagan dropped his chain right at the finish line, though I'm not sure it really affected the outcome.

To me it looks like his throw is what caused it. Chain's still on the top half of the front chainring. I'd call it inconsequential based on that photo.

Spurd.
Was Sagan trying to elbow him in the nuts?

Sagan veered somewhat dramatically into Kwiatkowski from sheer exhaustion. I thought they were going to crash into the media who were squeezing both sides of the road.

Dwars door Vlaanderen was really good this year. Philippe Gilbert looked pretty strong the whole race, but his final attack didn't stick and when he was pulled back, his team mate Yves Lampaert immediately attacked and that REALLY stuck, to the tune of half a minute. Gilbert then easily won the sprint for second. Love it when Quickstep don't race like idiots.

Valverde was going so fast up that climb today that he had to tap his drat brakes on the last switchback.
