Trial crashes consistently during the very long series of cutscenes after habitat 7 but before the nexus on me. Ask me about unskippable cutscenes in the game I won't be purchasing.

When do you pick your class profile stuff in the beginning? I hit "quick start" and just finished the psuedo tutorial beginning area. I assume I hosed up and should not have done that?

GMG posted:Mass Effect Andromeda will officially release in North America on the 21st of March and 23rd of March in Europe. Green Man Gaming will only be distributing the game keys on the European release date (23 March), however, we are aiming to do our best to release the keys to customers as soon as we can. Please note that we are only able to guarantee that you will have your key within 48 hours of the European release as mentioned on the product page to set expectations. It was originally advertised as realeasing on the 21st. This was posted literally hours before it was meant to happen.

It's insane nerd hyperbole, most of which comes from people who haven't even played the game - which has become the new standard with Bioware games You can easily make the argument that this is not a great game but i disagree with anyone who says it's bad. It's been fun so far. The first dungeon on Eos was cool as hell

"it's fun" is literally the lowest level positive you can have about any entertainment product i don't understand how, when faced with objective truths - bad animations, awkward voice acting, lazy design, a story cribbed from halo 4 - that people just go 'who cares, it's fun' it's good that the game is fun. but a game can still be of poor quality and fun. hitting your balls with a hammer can be fun, and i know this for a fact as i do it every night

Drifter posted:Was it REALLY that bad? Like, would you have played it if you had gotten it for $20? So if they iron out most of the bugs maybe, for $20. Definitely not for 60 even with everything working. I realized I was just not having fun, it was completely uncompelling the storytelling fell so flat. The combat system is kind of ok but then you realize that being out of cover (and the cover system is criminally bad) means instant death so really using those sick manuevers is really only viable if you are heavily invested into damage reduction/tanky builds. Beyond that the game looks great in some places but cartoonishly terrible in others. Any scene that is supposed to be cinematic or compelling is laughably poorly done. The collectathon missions felt really really bland ("Oh my brother died on this planet, go here and leave this pendant"). The voice actors are OK-ish though some are offensively bad. In almost every way its worse than ME1, which is so confounding.

Fojar38 posted:At the moment this thread consists of ~5 people who don't have the game being very mad at the game and the fact that people are having fun with it while people who have it are busy playing it and also me, a big dumb idiot There is a kernel of truth to this, people who bought the game are playing it and it will be a few days until we start getting people who have hit the ending and have heard Ryder in labor. That's how ME3 threads were, everybody started out with Tuchanka and said "WTF this is a Good Game" and then a few days later the net exploded. And some people will enjoy the game because they enjoyed the game.

trash person posted:Never played it! I think part of my ability to really enjoy MEA is I honestly haven't played many single player RPGs since KOTOR 2. I usually play multiplayer FPS games, puzzle games, and walking simulators I could see that. A lot of the frustration from this game seems to be that it hasn't shown itself to be as...fully iterated as its modern open-world counterparts. Like, I'd rather not play it at all rather than play a game as devoid of fun as Dragon Age Inquistion's gameplay and quest design. But if this is the first game of its like that you've played then I can see how it'd be great. I mean, even Fallout 3 has its fans. And Fojar and them all seem to have a lot more invested in having this game somehow be fantastic instead of taking it as it truly is, but we'll need mroe time to see how the rest of the game turns out, and see whether it was front or end loaded, or just kinda sucks in general. And people like Hedrigall apparently just want to have sex with stuffed animals at museums or whatever. Drifter fucked around with this message at 07:04 on Mar 21, 2017 |

I have to admit, after reading this thread the smirking PC woman has become sort of endearing. If this game was way cheaper I would buy it just to see a character who can't even control her own face figure out how to relate to other humanoids and stumble into saving the galaxy
