Oh my god. I do not understand how they have messed up the clothing and armor customization so loving badly. You can make all the settings you want with all the colors you want. Will it save? HAHA that is the joke.

Oh wait, you need to hit Spacebar then exit the menu with Escape between each change. Not... really the best UI

Yeah this is annoying. I find hitting space seems to save the settings although I'm not entirely sure it's a bit of voodoo.

Wee the post delivered me a DVD-less DVD case and I input the dumb key and now I get to continue from where the demo ended. :drum:

But first I made a Rydette. Really had to fight the stupidly restrictive character designer on this, and though she's not a patch on my One True FemShep, I do believe I can get through the game like this (after I complete my default Rydude playthrough).

I have one piece of advice to give advice to anyone just starting this game -

Ignore the research and development crafting system completely until you're more than halfway through the game. You probably don't have enough research points to get a good version of whatever armor or weapon you want and you don't have the right resources either.

Get the 'Requestition' cryo pod perk and you'll find good gear scattered around everywhere. Fill in any gaps with stuff from merchants.

There's a side quest where you meet two ex-Cerberus scientists. It's dumb. For example, they say they quit because of Project Lazarus. When Cerberus is cell based so the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing, and that was one of the most secretive projects they had. Also, you don't have a Shepard standard "Just... shoot them. In the face." option, because Ryder is a putz.

Alternatively, cheat. There's a cheat engine table that will let you duplicate any item or material. But if you're on a console and can't: Something I missed until quite a way through the game was that weapons and armour can be deconstructed into their base materials at a 1:1 scale. Anything you put into crafting (including augmentations) you can get back. This includes stuff you loot from the world as well as things you craft.

I'll ask again because there's nothing on google. Has anyone completed "Forgotten History", the one where you bring the Angaran archaeologist artifacts to bang her. I'm missing one on Voeld and there's no quest marker for it.

As you progress in the game.
You can make the Nomad handle hazardous zones longer, and you can give yourself a backup life support gen consumable that will give you more life support but the only long term answer is to finish each planet.

Spoiler Fun fact: If you finish each of the planets you visit before you complete the Archon ship, you get a wonderful scene where the game spoils you for Meridian before you know almost anything about it. Also, you never go back to Habitat-7... I mean Ryder-1

Honestly I don't like any of the flirt options so I think I'm just gonna ride solo with my bros the salarians this time. I romanced Thane in the first series and found his relationship with Shep really, really creepy and sad (Shep what is wrong with you?), kind of turned me off that part of the game in general lol.

Unrelated but Peebee is less annoying than I thought! I was pleasantly surprised. :3:

Sara can gently caress Jaal he gets the porno treatment that Cora and Peebee also get. Liam is the best romance even though he don't get a porno. But yeah no krogan loving which is BAD.

I need a tutorial for making my Rydette look as good as this.

e. Also, why don't games these days give us a better idea of what our characters will look like ingame? My idealized character creator has the character standing in the game world and I can make it say lines or stuff. The char creator in FFXIV was pretty drat close...

Thankfully, the character designer's limitations make it relatively easy to give you some effective primers:

- pick the default Ryder's haircut, the rest are either overly pretty, boring, or just rubbish
- use a darker colour, light hair in this game looks dreadful
- lower the brow a lot, if not completely
- reduce cheeks and cheek bones so that you get a nice gentle curve when you turn the head to, say 30 degree angle or so
- line up the chin to the mouth
- narrow the jaw a little or a lot, depending on the model
- make the nose robust; lower it, increase its depth and size, but keep it relatively narrow so that the top of the bridge is about as wide as the tip
- some basic dark brown/near black eyeshadow and eyeliner help

For reference, I based that custom face on preset 5. Preset 8 also works very well:

EDIT: Made these two public on the ME Archives just now for whoever's interested.
