At the end of one, tied 0-0. Clarkson will start the 2nd on the PP, but almost gave up a short handed goal at the end of the 1st.

Ohio State may (should) be without its best offensive defenseman against Minn-Duluth. https://twitter.com/cjzero/status/842873725552943105?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw SBN College Hockey posted:The hit is bad, and certainly deserving of an ejection, but not necessarily supplemental discipline, save for the fact that Healey is a repeat(repeat, repeat) offender.

IT'S TIME FOR THE RADDEST NCAA TOURNAMENT THAT NOBODY WATCHES MOTHER FUCKEERRRSSSSS GET READY TO HEAR TERRIBLE ANNOUNCING AS JOHN BUCCIGROSS SHOWS HOW HE KNOWS A TOO MUCH ABOUT COLLEGE KIDS AND EVOLVES EVER MORE INTO PIERRE MCGUIRE MARVEL AS DJEXILE MAKES MORE REFERENCES TO TALKING HEADS BECAUSE TALKING HEADS loving OWN LET'S BREAK THIS poo poo DOWN FRIDAY SPEAKING IN TONGUES REGIONAL Scheels Arena, Fargo, N.D. 3:00PM Eastern Time - ESPN2 Boston University vs. North Dakota It is an absolute loving crime that this gets the early TV slot because it's probably going to be the best matchup of all the regionals and should easily have the hottest crowd. Both have power plays just under 20%. Both programs have a bunch of NHL prospects. BU's Jake Oettinger is a fantastic goaltender. By all rights this is a home game for North Dakota. Scheels is barely an hour from Grand Forks so there should be a huge crowd for NoDak. SHOULD YOU WATCH THIS GAME? Absolutely. Do whatever you can to watch this game. 6:30PM Eastern time - ESPN-U gently caress Ohio State vs. Minnesota-Duluth This is likely to be a pretty comfortable win for Duluth, but it has the potential to be babytown frolics. Minn-Duluth is loaded with seniors and comes in red hot, having just won the NCHC. Alex Iafallo is averaging nearly 1.2 points per game for the Bulldogs. Both teams have awful penalty kills (74.2% for OSU, 80.3% for UMD) and Ohio State's PP is an absolutely absurd 32.2%. OSU scores a ton of goals but also gives up a ton, and they will be without defenseman Josh Healey, who has been suspended 2 games. SHOULD YOU WATCH THIS GAME? Maybe. This has a better chance of being a comfortable Duluth win but if it gets penalty-heavy you could wind up with a barn burner here. FEAR OF MUSIC REGIONAL Dunkin Donuts Center, Providence, R.I. 4:00PM Eastern Time ESPN-U Harvard @ Providence Goddamn what a year for Harvard. Won the ECAC. First Beanpot win since 1993. Haven't lost a game since January 17th. 4.21 goals per game. A goalie who's played every single game. A great power play at 26.2%. Harvard may be the hottest team in the country coming into the tournament. Providence is a fairly young team and didn't have a bad season by any measure, but they aren't a team that excels in any one place either. They forecheck well and have an advantage of having last weekend off because of an early elimination from the Hockey East tournament. Also effectively got home ice. gently caress the NCAA. SHOULD YOU WATCH THIS GAME? Eeh, probably not. Should be a comfortable Harvard win. Plus John Buccigross is at this regional and will make it all the more unbearable. 7:30PM Eastern Time - ESPN3 Air Force vs. WMU Winning the Atlantic is like being named "Miss Akron" in a beauty contest, so lord only knows what Air Force is really like. They have a spectacular (90%) penalty kill, and Starrett has been great in goal for them. That said, this is largely against trash garbage Atlantic Hockey competition. To Air Force's credit, they schedule pretty good non-conference opponents, and do own an early season win over Boston College. Western Michigan flew under the radar most of this year. They're another of those "not really great at anything, but don't suck at anything" teams. No real reason to think Western should lose this, but whoever does is likely to get walloped by Harvard. SHOULD YOU WATCH THIS GAME? Nah. SATURDAY MORE SONGS ABOUT BUILDINGS AND FOOD REGIONAL SNHU Arena, Manchester, N.H. Noon Eastern Time - ESPN3 Cornell vs. UMass-Lowell Holy poo poo this Lowell team. Hockey East champs after a nailbiter final with BC. Weapons everywhere. Great power play (27%), a goalie named Wall. Deep as gently caress. Cornell is no slouch and play great defensive hockey. They are by no means an offensive powerhouse, but it's hard to knock them on anything else. SHOULD YOU WATCH THIS GAME? Maybe? Lowell should cruise but if any of the underdogs stand a chance at pulling a major upset, it's likely Cornell. Defensive-heavy teams have done it before. 3:30PM Eastern Time - ESPN-U Notre Dame vs. Minnesota Minnesota is a monster and Don Lucia is consistently one of the best coaches in the country. They've won 6 straight regular season conference championships (although it's questionable how good you really have to be to win the goddamn B1G ) They lost in double-OT to Penn State in the tournament but were already locked into the national tournament so they got some extra rest. They score a ton of goals but goaltending's been an issue. ND had a solid late season run but comes into this game having been manhandled by UMass-Lowell. SHOULD YOU WATCH THIS GAME? Yes. If you haven't seen Minnesota this season, check them out. A win here for the Gophers would set up a hell of a regional final with Lowell. REMAIN IN LIGHT REGIONAL U.S. Bank Arena, Cincinnati, Ohio 1:00PM Eastern Time - ESPN News Fightin' Nerds vs. Denver Nerds have a very good defense and goaltending, average offense. Denver has a spectacular defense and a number of smaller, speedy forwards that are a hoot to watch, and two goalies with GAAs under 1.85. Angus Redmond (spectacular name) has been a fantastic goalie for the Nerds, but this may be a long day for him. Mel Pearson has done a great job getting Tech back to the big dance, but Denver is the overall #1 for a very good reason. SHOULD YOU WATCH THIS GAME? Yep. You'll see some highlight-reel worthy poo poo from both Redmond and the Denver offense, but Denver should cruise. 4:30PM Eastern time - ESPN3 Penn State vs. Union Two teams with a lot of speed, a ton of scoring, and average at best goaltending. Union's Vecchione and Foo each have over 60 points. Smirnov has 45 for Penn State. This could easily be one of those 7-6 games. SHOULD YOU WATCH THIS GAME? Oh hell yeah.
