Haifisch posted:No chicken rules. The Chickencheez-it has a bag inside the bag. For some reason. There's a distinct cheez-it smell, which is probably a good sign? The cheez-it smell vanished sometime during baking, although these still smell a bit cheesier than normal chicken tenders. Taste-wise, these are actually pretty good. It's more of a smokey cheese undertone than overwhelmingly cheez-it, and the meat seems fairly high-quality for frozen chicken. Would buy again if they weren't so expensive.

The measure of our society lies not in how we honor our finest pizzas, but in how we treat our lowest pizzas. By which I mean burn it all down and kindle the flames of righteous pizza rules on the smouldering dying embers of this no pizza rules nonsense.

Hot watermelon juice dribbling down my chin, like sweet magma gradually oozing its way down to my torso where it burns my chest hair, the scents combining to form a sickly pungent miasma. As the concoction overwhelms me and I fade into the unknown, I hear the echo of familiar words somehow comforting and dreadful at the same time. 'No pizza rules...'

Given that my wife's family likes putting chili powder on watermelon and eating it, I could totally see them really enjoying some version of this with chili P, limes, and perhaps some casero cheese or something.

Last year I had a bunch of tiny ants in my kitchen cabinet. I didn't realize it until I was eating a bowl of cereal and noticed the ants swimming around in the milk. I finished eating it, I had already made it halfway through anyway.

My gf is Sri Lankan and there was a snack they'd buy there as kids that is just slices of pineapple with chili powder which is apparently amazing. Also watermelon goes quite well with prosciutto, it's a pretty classic canapé I think.

I was living at a wildlife rehab off the grid in the forest in Belize, and some of the other volunteers bought supplies to make rice krispie squares as a treat for the group. The night of, they pulled out the bag of marshmallows, and found it crawling with army ants inside. The type that have extremely painful bites. Instead of giving up, they guy washed the marshmallows off in the sink and washed all the ants down the drain, except for a few that got on the counter that had to be cut in half with a steak knife because you can't friggin crush the things, they're practically immortal.

Russians pickle everything, not just cabbage and cucumbers, but also fruits such as apples. I was invited to a Russian BBQ and unwittingly served pickled watermelon many years ago. I will never forget the confusing odor, the mismatch of salt and sweet, the rubbery texture, the disappointment and revulsion.
