Fully upgraded Engine Blade's weapon story is pretty nice, which the actual game had something like that. Also the warping effects are cool.

I just want to mention that the "iris" effect I talked about earlier with the unusually deep shadowing at the corners of the screen is definitely real - in the desert, the lens flares even follow the curve. For whatever reason the screen is always subtly lit to make it look like an eye.

It's kind of annoying but I'm glad it's unique to this game, I thought my TV was on the blink.

Actually hard mode is good and fun. I haven't tried very hard yet though.

I've just beaten the first boss of the Desert zone and I'm not sure about it. It doesn't seem to alter the enemy patterns or HP, it just makes mistakes absolutely unforgiveable by having enemy hits take off at least 40% of your HP at an absolute minimum. I kind of feel like it's something for Route B/C, when you've outleveled most of the extant content and want higher stakes.

Thats about as subjective as saying that easy/normal essentially gives you godmode after like 3 chips and makes all combat entirely trivial and boring, so it's a great thing people can choose and pick and change to their liking (or degree of competence or over-leveling).

Hard mode apparently turns enemies more agressive and theyll dodge a lot more to avoid attacks.

Yeah I got it for my PC as well, same card, similar poor performance. I tried a couple fixes with no luck and just refunded it and got it on PS4. Luckily I was keeping careful track of my playtime and went in with the full intent to refund it if I couldn't get it running how I wanted.

Machine cores increase in value the further you are, but if you need a cash bump now there's no harm in selling them

everything else stays the same so yeah sell whenever

also look at selling chips with high storage space costs for their level or that you aren't going to use

On my second playthrough now and in my opinion, sell them when you need the money. Don't wait for their value to go up. You need money now? Sell it now. The reasoning is that by the time the value per unit goes up, you will be getting so much money that income as a whole becomes a non factor, so the increased value is pointless.

I mostly need money to buy new weapons and upgrade the ones I already have, plus some chips and such. I guess that's fine, then. As long as progress or weapons or unique items or whatever isn't gated behind having them, I can go without.

I'm not even done with Route B and sitting on 400k+ and a good amount of lvl 4 weapons. I started running with +70% drop rate the moment I could. I need to sell chips just to ensure I don't get a full inventory.

So basically run with +drop rate the moment you can.

In Route C A2 and the pod was my favorite comedy pairing among many great ones and i was hoping that part of the game would keep going for another 20 hours. Even if it wasobviously setting you up for an emotional drop.

The contrast between (later route C spoilers) A2's cold, dismissive attitude towards the quests and the absolutely wonderful music that plays after you complete the slide was fantastic. I almost didn't want to keep going after that point and just sit there and listen to the song forever.

There should be a tree root you can climb to get on a nearby building, which you can then jump from to get across.

Blanket platforming tip: Hold the jump button until you grab onto your pod, and then (while still holding it), hit light attack to do a cool spin kick which gives you some horizontal distance. Then you can hit jump again to do your double jump, hold it until you grab onto the pod again, and do another spin kick. Then, if you need more distance, do a dash in mid-air and you can grab the pod and do a third spin kick.

From either the north-west building or the west building use jump-dash-jump. More advanced movement methods exist but aren't required for this one.

Climb the building to your left. Look around to find the highest/closest point to the building you're trying to get to. Then Springt > jump > double jump > pod kick > forward evade > glide.

Should get you there with decent room to spare.

Vermain
Sep 5, 2006

You can make that specific jump by climbing up on top of the building to the left of it, jumping onto the rusted-out transformer (?) at the top, and then use a combination of a double jump, a dash, 3-4 Virtuous Contract light attacks and your Pod's slowfall.

Spin kicks, yo. They're the absolute best way to get horizontal distance. E: I'd make a video showing it off, but I don't have a savefile anymore
