heres one of my favorite stories to tell at bars. guarantees you a joke for a smoke so theres this penguin. hes driving from chi-CAH-go (i tell folks im from chicago before i set this up) and hes pickin up stakes and makin a new life in california, where the joke is being telled hes driving and his car breaks down in the middle of the desert. so he pulls over to a little nowhere town and pulls into the shop "Gonna be a while," sez the mechanic. Why dontcha take a walk down main street and enjoy the town? so the penguin walks down main street. its hot, and he goes into an ice cream parlor. he orders a big bowl of vanilla ice cream. he has flippers so he cant work a spoon and he just digs his beak in that bowl, gets it all over his face he looks at his watch and goes back to the mechanic shop. the mechanic is bent over the hood and looks at the penguin "Looks like you blew a seal." "No! No! It's just vanilla ice cream!"

for reference there are ~1400 turns in the game and a friend im playing against have taken 4 months IRL to play two turns, im working on turn 2 right now in fact and i've put 4 hours into this one turn already. last time we tried to play we got in ~200 turns in 2 years.

I had a game called P.T.O. (Pacific Theater of Operations) on the SNES, it's basically a much simpler version of War in the Pacific, and you could set it to fight itself. I never did, though, because what was the point?
