Capsaicin posted:` No joke, once I stopped paying attention to their specific wants (outside of clients that request a specific hostess) and focused just on their reaction, my scores improved tenfold. I thought that the rich clients were stupid dicks that got angry if you didn't match them with someone immediately. Turns out I was just matching them with a bad hostess and you have more than enough time to make a decision. (I also didn't realize that you can switch hostesses out until way too late )

Just hit the point of no return. I thought this thing only had 15 chapters, but drat. There was some straight up Dynasty Warriors poo poo in there.

corn on the cop posted:(I also didn't realize that you can switch hostesses out until way too late ) This took me awhile as well. Also, giving a passing glance at specific wants can give you a good idea of who to start on, at least. If anyone rich or mega-rich came in wanting to talk, I knew I could usually just immediately select the grandma in the sweater, even if they didn't want someone funny.

So gently caress that poo poo with a spiked bat.

Ogita only took me five tries \/. Gotta take your extra steps but without losing your concentration. The only dance I had any trouble with was I'm Gonna Make Her Mine on Hard, because for some reason you need to clear 7000 points

Nah they're right, the timing on the button presses for the disco game is way unforgiving even for someone that's played a lot of rhythm games. Like we recently had Hatsune Miku on 3DS and I could do most of the songs no sweat, but the disco game could still gently caress my poo poo up seemingly at random because the window to hit the button is really, really narrow and the visual indicator is "bad" at best, I beat the songs by just getting into the groove of the song and barely paying attention to the screen. It's not as bad as some people are making it out to be but it is definitely really hard in a way that's kind of unfair.

I disagree strongly, as "someone that's played a lot of rhythm games." This is why I understand I have some bias here, but I can't fathom how someone who can handle other rhythm games can't get this one. Frankly I think the timing is generous. The timing for Disco is really weird and the fact the squares constantly flash blue and red when 2 of your prompts are also blue and red really mess with your head Also the scores for winning are super inconsistent. I got 7000 against Ogita once and lost because he got 7600, then I got 6000 the next attempt and won because he only got 5600, poo poo's wonky

For the actual Dance Off Battles it seems to me to be easier to beat them on Easy or Normal, only play Hard for the CP

Another thing I think that could be done a lot better is when the main characters switch cities. There was basically 0 content for either of them. Zero substories and you could do nothing but beeline to the next objective. Not that I'm blaming the game for lack of content but they should have put at least one for each.

For me, the shittiest rhythm game in Yakuza is the karaoke, and the random speed of the voice lines. It's so weird, why not have a constant speed?

Yea, that would throw me off, especially as it would suddenly speed up when changing lines. Disco is still the worst though. The timing just feels off. After completing Majima's Disco substory, I thought I'd never have to play that minigame again, but I had a final hostess event there. I just set the controller down, wasn't doing that poo poo again.

I'm only in Chapter 8 but at 50 hours played I was definitely expecting Kiryu and Majima's paths to cross by now, I thought the game was gonna be about them teaming up for most of the story. I assume they team up at the end though.

The thing I really liked about Sleeping Dogs' karaoke was the shift in pitch when you mess up. It was all auto-tuned but it gave a neat effect to the mini game.

drat this game is like 50% cutscenes. I love it. Obviously pretty well written and when it isn't ingame model mode it's off the hook good. I wish more game could do this without it feeling so oppressive. I have no issue just smoking a j and sipping a brew watching this interactive Japanese gangster movie. I really want to run around in some of the stuff I've gotten but I don't know how much time I'll dedicate to post game/second playthrough (I assume you get them for second playthroughs) I'm guessing the reason they don't let you change outfits in the main story is because of all the cutscenes. Probably adds a layer of complexity that developer time could be better spent elsewhere. gently caress disco.

There is just so much in the game that does different strokes for different folks. Hell I haven't tried the 4th fighting styles after unlocking them because what I was using was effective.
