Why is she (assuming she because of the eggs) so twitchy at the end? I've never owned a bird, so I dunno how they act around eggs.

Stupid_Sexy_Flander posted:Why is she (assuming she because of the eggs) so twitchy at the end? As someone who's never owned a bird either I want to say it's either nervousness, or she's shivering for the same reason a human shivers. Eggs like to stay warm, and shivering on top of them would help that happen.

Stopped by the shelter for a quick visit, and got to meet some of the new guys This is Bongo, who was fairly disinterested Prince Monterey prefers an empty litterbox to an actual bed Boo is very handsome, but couldn't be bothered Cowboy is a big ol' beefy lump Vitani is a grumpy old fella, but he loves his toys It's a lot of work, but luckily they had some help around the office from Leopold, a handsome and inquisitive bengal So sleek and dignified

Stupid_Sexy_Flander posted:Why is she (assuming she because of the eggs) so twitchy at the end? That's probably a mechanism to fluff her feathers out and settle in on the eggs more. I've seen my hens do it when they're broody. She's trying to gather the eggs under her as best she can and puff her feathers up so she gets the best possible coverage on them.

Here they are in their club house...humans not allowed. Shadow (the brown one) is 14ish years old so not as exited as Nibbler who is half his age, showed up at age 1 or 2. Nibbler showed up at my door of a rent house with horrible signs of abuse. It took about a year to break her of pissing when scared, if you picked up anything resembling a stick or raised your voice she would Coward and pee. Whats worse is she got out and got rolled up under a car, broke both bones in her front leg. It was a noodle even with the splint I put on it, had to wait a weekend before the surgery to put the titanium plate in her leg. The Vet kept beating around the bush when it came to price and I had to cut him off and just ask how much, 1500 was way less than I feared. Talking to my sister who changed careers for this specific reason said people put animals down for a couple hundred
