Heatsinks were quietly changed to give you 2 seconds of silent running when they fully eject. This breaks locks and scans, even from stations. Works for all kinds of smuggling. If you mash your heatsink button right as you get "scan detected" it will break that scan before it finishes.

I pop one or two heatsinks on the way in to stations and never even see scans.

You would think that popping heatsinks when entering a station would be really suspicious and someone looking out those windows flanking the envelope slot would say "yo that guy is suspicious and he's landing at pad 69"

What's the difference between literal silent running and just having your heat level bottomed out from the heat sink doing its normal job? Heat level is supposed to progressively affect target locks, gimbal efficiency, etc. as well.

The current Saitek stuff is lovely, right? I've got a super old Saitek X45 that is solid and still works great, was thinking about picking up some rudder pedals though. CH is pretty decent?

Do missions for fed factions, do ~powerplay poo poo~ for whatever the fed powers are (Hudson, Winters?).

Powerplay is basically hauling printers but in space, it's horribly unfun.

This whole thing doesnt matter since arißa won the emperorship because her faction grind was slightly more fun than others and everybody else doesnt care anymore.

I'm loving the Logitech X52: I may have been lucky because it was quality checked by #1, but I was almost surprised by how well it was put together and worked after hearing some horror stories! I noticed all of the software is still Mad Catz, so good to know it got sold!

They really hosed up the plot if there ever was one. Who even remembers or cares that aryssa is the emperor? There is a galactic war? I didnt know

Shaken, not purred.
I just got interdicted for the first time... I was flying above a ring towards a RES when I got the message I was being pulled out of supercruise. Next thing i knew i was hurtling towards the planet and it's rings, i dropped my throttle to 0 but it was to late, I went right through the rings and most of my systems went down including my engines. In a panic I was trying everything I could to get them back on including shutdown/restart before i noticed my power output had dropped, after disabling some unneeded modules I was able to get back in to super cruise and to a station before they caught up with me.

That was scary and awesome at the same time.

One of the things I think a lot of folks ignore in interdictions is that you're most probably at full throttle and trying to fight the interdiction game is really tough - but if you pull back to the blue zone and pitch + yaw you can beat the npcs without too much sweat. My last imperial rank mission had a bunch of assholes following me System to System and they tried to jump me a bunch of times, but they didn't have poo poo on me even in my mostly D ranked asp.

I can't even call the right one bad.
1. Collect mission reward materials
2. Fly to P Puppis
3. Fly to Deciat
4. Use ship transfer to call short legged ships there
5. Decide to take missions to kill time
6. Get jumped by two NCs while snagging a black box
7. kaboom
8. Realize you forgot to sell the exploration data
9. Also all mission reward commodities are gone

I'm new, but I get owned in it too. Once you are fighting 2 ships, I seem to die very quickly. I haven't done any combat since I started in the past week or so, but I don't remember it being quite that hard when I played the beta.

In the world, just ah... don't try to fight more than you can handle. Thanks tutorial, lesson learned!

Wait, did the forums somehow convince the developers that they needed to reduce the payout for player crew?

If they did I think they should just close those things for feedback

Yeah I'm not sure how it's supposed to be winnable - the very first ship is quite a threat, when it goes 2v1 you basically don't stand a chance. I might also just be really bad at this game!

Don't worry about it, it's deliberately hard as poo poo. I don't think I've ever beaten it, and I've been playing for months.

This looks like the time honoured Frontier bait and switch, Engineers style. It looks like it was always the plan. They also think players have to earn the right to sit in a conda.

I don't think it was always the plan, "scale rewards with combat rank" is probably the worst solution to the problems it supposedly fixes (afk earning, newbie boosting, lack of risk) and it's going to leave multicrew absolutely worthless in their much hyped PS4 release, so I find it highly unlikely they came up with that solution independently of the big "multicrew rewards should be based on your rank" thread that was kicking about the beta forums.

I guess I just don't want to belive a relatively small thread changed the course of development after they double downed on the rewards not being split.

Regardless I still consider it bait and switch.
