I couldn't get the sync to work properly with Google Drive, switching over to KyPass fixed that problem.

However, in my trek to remove myself from the Google-o-sphere, it'd be nice if I can get another solution besides Google Drive to work. Maybe NextCloud or something.

For what it's worth, I use Dropbox over several devices without issue - Owncloud should work as well, too - If you want to keep it completely in-house.

Yeah I've thought of spinning up a Digital Ocean droplet with Own/Nextcloud, but :effort:

The biggest difference would Tavis Ormandy isn't completely owning 1Password week after week, have a shower epiphany and coming up with a completely devastating exploit.

So, 1Password has that going for it.

Indeed. I was speaking more to the functionality of the app.

Also, how's Newsstand as an app? I want to subscribe to some newspapers (to become more informed, no publications in particular).

Didn't they remove News Stand like 2 iOS versions ago?

I think they mean the News app, since newsstand wasn't even an app but just a dressed up folder.

ASK ME ABOUT BEING A GROWNUP WHO FUCKS A REAL DOLL
I am super confused. I thought I had all my privacy settings set up correctly and I use private browsing mode out of habit, but when I start to type a site in the safari search bar, it will finish the site address for me based on previous history. How do I stop this?

Is the address bar at the top dark or light grey? If it's light grey, then you haven't been in privacy mode.

ASK ME ABOUT BEING A GROWNUP WHO FUCKS A REAL DOLL
It's dark grey. This seems to have something to do with iCloud Safari being turned on. When I turn it off it goes away. I have 4 iOS devices and only 2 on hand, I am hoping that once I have access to all, turn off iCloud Safari, clear all data, and re enable, it wont do it anymore. I think what's happening is I have a device with me, I turn it off and clear, but when I turn back on it's pulling the Safari data from a device back at home.

Doesn't crash for me, but like someone upthread said, it does a much worse job of staying the "active" music app in the system media player thing than 2.X did. It's a lot more obvious to me because my car automatically connects the phone to bluetooth and starts playing, which will resume the latest podcast if I was I've Overcasting.

Since 3.0, I've twice driven to Dunkin' Donuts while listening to Overcast. Walked in, picked up a coffee, and left, never touching my phone. When I got back up in the car, Music.app started playing.

It's not a big deal, but I'd rather have that work than any of this new stuff.

It definitely crashes more for me than it used to. I also have the problem with it not staying active for very long and it sometimes even takes a few taps of the play/pause button when within the app to start audio playing. It's really frustrating. I had kinda assumed something had changed with how the OS handles audio because this seems like the kinda thing Marco would get all nitpicky about. For what it's worth, I'm still on an iPhone 6 which I guess is maybe-slightly getting a little long in the tooth?

Dude?
I was thinking it was not actually a bookmark but a frequently visited domain to the point that it shows up in the frequently visited section, like automatically created bookmarks.

Private browsing prevents history from being recorded but it doesn't prevent previous history from being displayed in the address bar autocomplete.

Nope I've cleared all history on all devices, turned off all top hit stuff that I can see, when it's on it searches bookmarks

EDIT2: Welp, I'm an idiot. I wasn't typing things correctly. It does scrape bookmarks, too.

A few times I've had the opened app crash but usually it happens when I try to resume a paused podcast from the control center. Sometimes it will crash immediately after I press play while other times it will hang up for a few seconds and then crash; occasionally it will actually resume playing after I hit play/pause a few times. This is on an SE

edit: is the default Podcasts app any good? I've been thinking about switching to it anyway because of its Siri integration

I've only recently started listening to podcasts and the default app suits my needs. Downloads and plays my podcasts as I expect it to. Don't really need anything else from it.

I stream all my podcasts (as opposed to downloading them), and when I used the default Podcasts app it would sometimes take almost a full minute to start an episode after I pressed play. Overcast manages to start almost instantly so I don't know what Podcasts.app's problem is.

I may be wrong, but I'm not sure if that's due to 3.0. The SiriusXM app does that as well, and both it and Overcast started getting bad around the same time.
