The current Thimble Theater storyline has had what two weeks of Popeye dying from being shot twenty times
Every day of those two weeks has been the exact same premise and probable joke and it's a retread from a previous storyline

It is still super hilarious and would easily defeat anything on the funnies pages today

That's Modesty and Willy's assumption, though it is not confirmed.

That said, I'm pretty sure Galt is just a nutbar. Seems like a pretty elaborate ruse just to get Modesty and Willy involved in a fight, given that getting involved in fights is about 75% of what they do.
