I'd say there's $10 worth of stuff in Leviathans. It's a bit more than a few missions. But I can also see waiting for it to be on sale. It's certainly not some fluff graphics pack or anything. It's a snack, but there's meat in there.

I recently pitched Stellaris to a friend, and when we talked about DLC I described Leviathans as "Totally worth it if you find you like Stellaris and want more stuff in it, but it isn't going to change whether you like the game or not." That said, enclaves alone can be game-changing and the leviathans themselves are all pretty neat.

So I usually buy everything direct on steam but I wanted to support are devs and bought direct from their site. Will they like email a steam key when it's ready? Do I need to do anything?

I think Hive-Mind is gonna be my second playthrough, as it disables some of the new stuff from Utopia like factions. Probably a psionic path, "give me all your migrants" adaptive federation builder.

As tempted as I am to just do a vanilla bog-standard United Federation of Planets peaceful xenophile socialist utopia run (like I literally always do), I think I might mix it up with some hardcore militarist religious nutjobs. Paradox needs to not release expansions for two of their games on the same day though. I also really wanna play EU4: Mandate of Heaven

You get 2 civics at the start, advanced govts tech unlocks a third one you can choose. What I want to know is, if you embrace a different faction, do you get to choose civics again?

If I remember right, the direct democracy had all the citizens implanted with chips so they could vote on things instantly just by thinking so it's materialist because it's enabled by high tech stuff.
