Destructoid's review of Graceful Explosion Machine emphasizes the "replay for high score" design of the game, which has always turned me off of games. Replaying something over and over just to try and get a faster time/higher score has never appealed to me as a game mechanic, and the fact that it otherwise takes a scant three hours to beat has removed any interest I had completely. Think I'll just pick up Blaster Master Zero instead, whenever I finally start tiring of Zelda and Shovel Knight.

Well it's not like Blaster Master Zero is that long of a game either. About 6 to 8 hours to %100 it, though that's longer than what you're saying GEM is. And BMZ has a new game + where you start with all power ups.

I bought a switch and Zelda. It's a very pretty game for a handheld system. This thing eats its battery like a 90's laptop though.

I bought a DS Lite in 2010 and used it up until the first part of 2011 when I threw it into a box. Earlier this year, I found it and it still had plenty of battery left.

My results weren't anything like yours. It takes my PS4 (with 7.2k RPM HDD, if that matters) almost 20 seconds to actually enter rest mode and then another 10-12 seconds from rest to on and outputting video. The Switch goes into rest mode and comes back with a signal in less than 10 seconds total. I think the switch startup from sleep is even faster than the vita's, maybe that's because you don't have to swipe across the screen, you just tap a button. They're both crazy fast. The difference between switch and the PS4 makes zero practical difference, but it's definitely faster. But nothing is faster than DS/3DS where you just open the thing and you're already playing.

So I recently bought another left and right set of joycons and it seems the left one won't recharge now that the initial battery level has run down. Cool. Has anyone heard of this happening?

The PlayStation stops outputting video after a few seconds but there is very clearly poo poo still going on with the console/drive for another 15-20 sec after putting it in sleep. Then I hit the PS button, the controller LED is solid, and it takes about 7 sec to output video. The Vita and Switch are both much faster because they use solid state storage. The PS4 has maybe 120 hours on it so I doubt it's dying. Never have issues in games. Either way thanks for saying something because I had no idea the option was there and I've been restarting games entirely when going into sleep mode. Is there a recommended Bluetooth adapter for using Pro and Joycons on the PC? USB or PCI?
