how is stationing nukes in SK anything? I mean all it does is piss everyone off it's a terrible idea, but how is that any different than boomers and CVNs floating around, which presumably have nuclear weapons, which also isn't nearly as antagonistic?

I'm phrasing that wrong, it's a terrible idea to put land nukes in SK. Why would you do something that horribly antagonistic and retarded when you could just kinda move the fleet around, nukes are probably withing a few hundred miles of the Koreas via a sub or something anyway is all I'm saying. edit: Oh duh they're trying to be pointlessly antagonistic durr

But that was part of a larger overall plan that deals with the lead up to and involves rolling back a Northern attack.

They're pretty mature weapons but you do actually need to tell them where to go and when (Can't even imagine the amount of planning you'd need to do in a "Hmm, GPS may get jammed over this bit of the flight path, and our ground radar is going to get spoofed here" - ballache basically). I suspect "You've got 2 hours to program the missiles and fire them from a couple of platforms you weren't expecting to use" really doesn't help the planners very much.
