So I bit the bullet and started watching this, due to all the hype. While I still feel the same about the CG art and voice acting as I did on the first try (I still don't really like the CG, and the voice acting is all over the place quality-wise), it really seems to be genuinely fun in spite of it. It is in fact sugoi tanoshii.

The only thing about the voice acting that consistently seemed strange is Serval ALWAYS YELLING HOW INTERESTING EVERYTHING IS. Those are some really detailed leg muscles in that pixel art.

Watched it at a friend's insistence a few weeks ago Ep 1: This is kinda bad.... Ep 2: ...Meh. I guess I can watch a mediocre show for my friend's sake, this season's been amazing and needs to be balanced out. Ep 3: That was pretty cute, and the setting is really interesting Ep 4: Wow that was fun Ep 5: [Kemono Brain Melt] This show was great and I want more of it, exactly how it is. Please don't up the animation, Japan, in a theoretical Season 2.

I'm surprised we haven't seen more art of cat Friends with laser pointers, honestly. I've seen a number of "cat is freaked out by cucumber" ones though. In Japans-memes-are-next-level news, the latest hashtag trend is the "#Learn With 'Stop, Fennec!' __________ Accident Series" . Apparently this spawned out of some fanart where Fennec is getting rather uh... amorous with Arai-san and she's all like "Stop, Fennec!", and has been turned instead into Arai-san giving helpful advice on preventing different kinds of accidents and disasters.
